eTV Openview HD channels scrambled?

Any way to use old toptv decoder for this?

AFAIK the TopTV decoder is pretty much locked down, one cannot even receive regular FTA such as DW, BVN etc. on it. So it won't have an NDS decryption module either...

Everything now days is encrypted so additional hardware(STB) will need to be purchased to receive the signal. If you have an existing toptv setup at your home all you will have to do is buy the decoder, the rest surely you can do but before spending money make sure your toptv is in working order. Unfortunately my TopTV signal is no more, I think the LNB has had it's toll will replace it this week and purchase the Ellies/Space (STB) as a stand alone you can purchase the Ellies box for R895/899 on promotion with installation R1699.

New content will be added, not sure how true it is but heard another 5 channels will be added soon as long as they are licensed for FREE TO AIR

Side note: I don't recommend contacting Ellies directly they quoted me R1200 and something for the decoder including VAT. It is probably a promotion cause it has launched.

What LNB is required for toptv/openview again as I have to replace mine.

List of free channels (not sure of their encryption) but the best one to get would be SPACE decoder.

Freevision - that has to be the worst website design I have ever seen

First thought would be NO, since TopTV's decoders use a different CAM.

TopTV decoders use the same encryption (NDS) but will do more reading, highly doubt it is possible.

What happen to the good old days when you could use your DSTV decoder and access sentech content(now that is impossible), must be an ICASA mandate or something. Back in the day we could receive free-to-air channels, example Play Boy tv, Spanish television, Portuguese etc, now that feed is scrambled here in South Africa. Surely if one can purchase the decoder it is possible to access such channels. (I wouldn't know where to start)
