Eugene De Kock given parole [Updated]

I guess Zuma must be missing his buddies that's why all will be released. De Kock and Zuma should rot in jail together.

About Zuma, he has been news maker of the year for more than 3 years(I think). So you shouldn't really be asking that question, unless your far more ignorant than me.

That statement actually shows your ignorants. News maker of the year does not means your are a good person it just means you have made a lot of news (good or bad). Hitler also was awarded man of the year by the Times magazine. All Zuma's criminal activities did help him in getting those 3 awards:erm:

I don't know much about De Kock, maybe I'm too lazy to do some research. Did the government that he(De Kock) served under approve or disapprove of his crimes? Why aren't the big guys who had the power to stop him not behind bars? Why does it always have to be the little guy?

Because they apologised and asked for forgiveness and a pardon. de Kock, on the other hand, psychopath that he is, didn't feel he had done anything wrong.

Guys you misunderstood me. I would prefer it if Zuma went to trial to answer to corruption charges. When I talked about him being a newsmaker for 3 years, I meant that he is in the news almost everyday and any average adult knows why he is not standing trial, as it has been explained in the media(though not satisfactory), so the is really no need to ask "Why is zumanot standing trial".

Anyway how does someone whois behind bars for killing and someone who is suspected of corruption compare? How does one comare a head of state with a public servant like De Kock?

Well I'm certainly not the ignorant one here.
Looks like you're back-peddling, or do you really have trouble expressing yourself?

Quite shocking that a president is in cahoots with criminals, and in most civilised countries someone like AIDS shower boy Zooma would never have been considered for a post in government, never mind the top job.

What does is matter that he is a head of state. Everybody should be equal before the law.

The thread is about De Kock, not Zuma. We can start a whole new thread about Zuma and why he is not being prosecuted, but what is the point, in your mind he is guilty. As described by many forumites here, Zuma is corrupt not suspected of corruption. Zuma can never have a fair trial.

Enough about derailing this thread, back to De Kock...

Which criminals? Don't name Shaik, since taking office he has not had personal contact with Shaik. Again, I have to ask, which criminals? Or are you perhaps delusional?

Which civilised countries? If you have a chance to look at the transcript from Zuma's trial you would see that he said that he took a shower after having sex with the alleged victim, the media twisted his statement. Don't rely on the media for everything, now you have your little assignment:p

It shows that Zuma is not a perfect human being, so far he has managed well, much better than Mbeki.

How do you know? Did Zuma tell You so himself?

Who said Zuma and cronies are managing better than Mbeki? That is still to be established. He does know well how to get out of "tight" situations. Must be experience with all the years doing what he does best!

We don't need to ask who is the delusional one, just need to read your posts :D
Which civilised countries?
Wouldn't expect you to know what that is.

Just your rambling above makes it clear enough how lacking in moral fibre teh dirty scumbag AIDS shower boy Zooma really is.

Cheating on his multiple wives with an AIDS infected girl, and then being as thick a brick announcing that a shower after unprotected sex will shield him from AIDS infection - sies man, you've got to be really desperate if you don't have better than that to chose from when electing a president.

So its okay for a president to have participated in criminal activities and hobnobbed with criminals before he took office? Of course past events couldn't possibly predict future behaviour right?

In any civilised country this would have been the end of his political career, instead we hand him the country on a silver platter!

Who is we?, the decision to elect Zuma president was not by South Africans, it was by select few ANC members. He like Mbeki can be removed from power by those select few ANC members.

I'm not sure if you're serious ???
I'm not sure, if you are serious either.

Because they apologised and asked for forgiveness and a pardon.
No they didn't. Especially the big guns within the ANC didn't asked for apologise and asked forgiveness and a pardon for the bombings of wimpies, murder of political competitors, dissidents or oponents, landmines, necklacings, trying to drown the country in a genocidal civil war etc.

I think the only time they came close to something like showing remorse for what they did, was when they were pressurized to do so by revelations about murder and torture in an ANC camp in quattro.

de Kock, on the other hand, psychopath that he is, didn't feel he had done anything wrong.
And depending what exactly you are refering to, I don't think actually he's got to feel so.

The high court in Pretoria has ordered South Africa’s new justice and correctional services minister to consider parole for former police death squad commander Eugene de Kock.

Judge Thokozile Masipa on Wednesday granted an order giving Minister Michael Masutha 30 days to make a decision on whether the man nicknamed Prime Evil should be released on parole after two decades in prison.

The National Council for Correctional Services apparently made a recommendation about De Kock’s parole in November last year. The recommendation was sent to the then Minister of Correctional Services S’bu Ndebele, but when he failed to make a decision De Kock approached the high court early this year for an order to force him to do so.

The case was settled when Ndebele’s legal advisers undertook that the minister would make a decision by May 12.

No decision had been made by the deadline and when Ndebele lost his Cabinet post after the May 7 general elections this year, De Kock again approached the court for a ruling.
