Anyone who murders another humanbeing deserves to die too, secondary to that he deserves life in prison without the possibility of parole IMO... Let this murderous granpa die in jail ... Pity many others like him roam the streets, but that doesn't mean that he must be freed... He is quite lucky that the death penalty was abolished, he should be dead.

One can say the same about some ANC/APLA militants who are still walking around. McBride?

It's a double standard. The guys who took part in the St James Massacre were let loose as well on amnesty because they were "just following orders." Either the "soldiers" are released eventually because they were following orders, or they are not. You can't just release your own people and then keep the rest locked up.

Many ANC/APLA radicals succumbed to the death penalty... And many more others who killed for political reasons should have, including Eugene de Kock... I don't buy this 'they were following orders rubbish' ... If I was a soldier and my general told me to shoot an unarmed man in the head, I'd tell him to eff-off

Mandela was involved in killing hundreds of innocent civilians in his "struggle", yet he was not only freed but lorded as a hero. If terrorist can walk free then Eugene de Kock should to.

He co-founded Umkhonto we Sizwe. The guys responsible for the church street bombing, Amanzimtoti bombing, Durban beach-front bombing, bombing of various wimpys. As a co-founder and active member he is, in my opinion directly responsible, for their actions.

We can assume from a political point of view, the ANC had no choice but to get violent since negotiations did not work. Face it, the Apartheid government was at fault, not the opposition. Having said that, I think it's time for him to get parole after 20 years inside, considering that his crimes was not his decision.

MK was founded in '61, he was chucked in prison in '62. All those took place long after that, usually more than 20 years after that.

As a side note - have you ever read up on De Kock and Vlakplaas?

Now Mcbride, you see, was quite the opposite.
His instructions were an attack / bomb at Natal Command (possibly the softest military target in human history), but instead chose a packed bar / restaurant along the road called Magoo's.
