Then explain why all the murderous brothers and sisters are roaming the streets, those that got early parole or who were released by "accident". Is it maybe because De Kock is a whitey that killed blacks? What about all the zuma cronies that got "medical" parole? What about all the murdering savages killing the striking miners. IMHO the same should apply for everyone. Once found guilty of murder no parole and die in jail, it should not just count for "White rightwing racists" but for "murdering black savages" too.

Gives some perspective, not just about what he has done but also how he was indoctrinated and molded for this job.
Those generals who left him behind at the Truth and Reconciliation commission hearings probably new they will one day tie this whole Vlakplaas/Death Squad saga around his neck. Making him the scapegoat.
 
Crimes before 1994 forgiven.

Crimes after 1994? most of the ANC will spend the rest of their lives in prison... but look at nkandla and malema their is no justice for the taxpayer so why the hell should he still be in prison being kept on my taxmoney?
 
Not many people are aware that De Kock has been in an out of prison for the last few years, working on a program with the NPA to find missing children.
 
Investiagtive journalist, Jacques Pauw made these interesting comments.

One that got me was, "remember he is a common criminal and as such, he should be able to qualify for parole as well"

No one else will say it so I will.
He's white so he will probably remain in prison not like his opponents at the time whom are heads of government departments and fat cats in government.

You really think it's his whiteness that's keeping him from getting parole, as opposed to the fact that he was an Apartheid regime-backed murderer and torturer?
 
He was a soldier in a filthy war. The asses that gave the orders are stinking rich ex-politicians yet he rots in jail??

Neither McBride nor Strydom should ever have been released.

No parole for first-degree murder. Same applies to De Kock.

If Derby-Lewis is really dying of cancer, then maybe he should be released.
 
De Kock parole decision expected next month

Justice and Correctional Services Minister Michael Masutha has until July 10 to make a decision on whether former apartheid-era police colonel Eugene de Kock should be granted parole.

"The minister has not reached a decision on the request for parole by Mr Eugene de Kock," his spokesman Lawrence Ngoveni said on Monday.

"He will make a pronouncement within the 30 days period set by the court."

Ngoveni said the 30 day period did not include weekends and holidays.

De Kock, a former police death squad commander, approached the High Court in Pretoria last month to force Masutha to make a decision on his parole.

De Kock was in charge of a police "death squad" at Vlakplaas outside Pretoria, and was arrested in mid-1994. He was convicted and sentenced in the High Court in Pretoria in 1996.

He was sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment for two murders and to a further 212 years' imprisonment on a range of other charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, culpable homicide, kidnapping, assault, and fraud.

Many of his former colleagues who committed murder under his command testified in return for indemnity from prosecution.

De Kock, nicknamed "Prime Evil", has spent two decades in prison.

Last month, Judge Thokozile Masipa granted an order giving Masutha 30 days to decide on De Kock's parole bid.

The National Council for Correctional Services made a recommendation about De Kock's parole in November last year.

The recommendation was sent to then minister S'bu Ndebele, but when he failed to act, De Kock approached the high court to force him to do so.
