Spain fully dominated Extra time, portugal were no where, but Spain just couldn't finish.. Fsck!
Penalties it is.
 
If germany was paying attention portugal just presented the tactics for overcoming spain.
 
Why on earth don't team start penalties with their best possible taker instead of saving him for the last spot kick? Which he might not get to take!
 
i slept from the 70th min till penalties

i doubt i missed anything other than bruno alves furked my sunday night up ....for the 1st time i might sleep through a final

Ronaldo wanted to be the hero and convert the 5th penalty.

bento told him to take the 5th... I tought when nani took over frombruno they should have just shifted the guys 1 up and left bruno out

That was unwise the because that first penalty takes all pressure off the rest of the takers and puts it on the opposition especially when you are first up in the shoot out. And it is possible to win without taking the last spot kick (so Ronaldo should have been first (or last)).

I thought that there was a set order of penalty takers and this can't be changed?

Correct. You submit your list of penalty takers and their order to the ref before it starts.

Penalties aren't what the used to be. Terry didn't cry and Ronaldo didn't cry which takes away some of the joy that I get from watching these tournaments.
 
Ronaldo probably would've missed his penalty anyway. He's missed quite a few lately.

In other news, Van Marwijk has resigned as Netherlands coach. Thank god.
 
If its me, I'll send my players from best to worst when it comes to penalties. You can probably workout all kinds of scenarios, but at the end of the day it comes down to pressure. If you keep putting them in the back of the net then you keep the pressure on the other side.

You also avoid a scenario were your best player doesn't take a kick at all.

:rolleyes: That's so stupid! If the team you are supporting in the Euro's win you will be happy, don't lie... remind me again what relation you have to the club team you support or even to the team you support in the Euros?
