Where do I switch off the auto date thingy.

When I type in 12-15, Excel changes it to 15 Dec.

I don't want that. And I do want to use "-", not "."

Thanks ;)

Think what teraside tried to say was:

right-click-> format cells...
Select "Text" from the list on the left.

It should now display correctly.

Theres an icon in the toolbar that does this, lots of lines underneath
one another, kinda shifted to the right, have a look :)

It's above the one cell, to the top, it's an icon, it looks like a thinga magik :D :D :D :p ;)

Select the cell that you want to change.
Click on format to open the dropdown list.
Click on Cells.
A window open indicating "Format Cells".
Under Category select Date.
In the Type Window select the format you want it to be. OK.

You could type it as '12-15 in the cell.
The apostrophe tells excel to leave the text as is.

LOL, if I didn't know what you were talking about I would have been SO confused :P

Listen to Muks. He has the right solution to your problem :)
