Expendables 3 Leaked

Not saying you have to rent, just saying that a DVDScr is exactly the same quality as a normal DVD in a video store.

I don't know, my itch aint that bad that I need to settle with a screener?

Your loss - not mine. I watched the movie. Whether you watch it today, tomorrow or next month when it officially releases I do not give two flying f**ks. Whether you want to wait for 720p blu-ray does not bother me either, just to keep my personal collection up to date I will also by that time download a 25-45GB 1080p quality of the movie as well - even if I have no intention of watching it again....

So I guess all the money you save from pirating movies goes to your (I am pro) e-toll account?

Nope. Like I said before, I do not have an etoll account and will never get one either, but yes, when (the few times I do per month) I use the roads I do pay them. I do not want to sit back and see this **** system prevailing and I need to pay thousands and thousands of Rands. Not for me thanks.

As for saving money through piracy, actually I don't. Downloading costs me money, but I still go to the cines when I feel like it, even if I have seen the movie months before it was released. Some movies often must be watched in 3D or iMAX quality.

I like the franchise - and am planning to watch it with popcorn and a slushie on a mother****ing big screen and surround sound. So I'll pass on downloading this. Out of principle.

Besides - this is just too easy. Something about this does not feel right...

What? The expendables coming to SA and moer or shoot the **** out of us for downloading it?

My worry is that the people downloading this now will have no reason to go see it in the cinema, therefore destroying the revenue generated, and preventing an Expendables 4 from being filmed.

My pledge is to go and watch this movie in the cinema. Yes, I'll have watched it by then, I have the rip, and no way on earth I'll be able to keep myself from watching it before release, but I will go and see it in the cinema anyway. These guys are making an awesome set of movies, and whether or not you like their business model ( hint: I don't ), they won't make them at all anymore if there's no money, which will be a greater loss.

TL;DR: Pirate the movie if you want, but please go watch it in the cinema/buy it on dvd anyway. They'll take a revenue hit from this leak, and that might prevent a number 4.

Current research - at least, research not sponsored by the entertainment industry - shows that, contrary to the entertainment industry's claims - piracy frequently increases sales.

NB: I am not attempting to justify piracy, I am simply setting the record straight.

I agree entirely with that - The thing is this was a rip that was released before the movie reached cinema, which is not the same thing as post release piracy.

The research doesn't necessarily agree: the pre-release rips help generate hype.
