So I do a speedtest last night using speedtest.net. Servers are hosted by Telkom. Pingin to Cape Town is 500+ms, which is attrocious for 4Mbps line. I then ping our server hosted at IS in the CBD from home in Gordons Bay and get 12ms!!! I have 4Mbps uncapped from Mweb. I tried speedtest servers at Vodacom, Afrihost and Telkom and all gave me same result of 500+ms. WTF is going on here?

But maybe just to add a remark: It also appears that Telkom does not know what the fault is on the severe xDSL network degradation that is happening on the Cape Peninsula....
