explain this sabc !

Lol!

Newsreporter on MorningLive said:
The ANC rally was covered because it was newsworthy and worth covering.

Is funny, most news items get maybe five minutes coverage not 2 hours!

Is there really so little to do that people would waste an entire day listening to politicians?

Putting that energy to better use could have resulted in a lot less litter around the CBD, as an example.

Is there any doubt that the SABC is an agent of the ruling party? :mad:

I proudly refuse to pay TV Licence or even watch SABC TV.

back to the topic :

"For two weeks prior to the Democratic Alliance’s final election rally, our party attempted to negotiate with the SABC for live coverage. At first the SABC gave us a verbal commitment that it would cover the event live. It then reneged on that undertaking. It would give no explanation for its decision, nor would it confirm or deny whether it was covering the ANC’s final event. Last night, it confirmed that it would indeed be covering the ANC live"

Someone must have been bribed ! I have however sent them an email regarding this topic asking that this should be investigated as it is in all trueness, very unlawful.

They dont need to be bribed, the SABC is the ANC mouth piece, anyone who holds a position that matters in the SABC has been appointed by the ANC
They know who pays their salaries

Here's the excuse :

The SABC said it needed to be borne in mind that the principle of equitable coverage does not mean equal coverage.
"The SABC is satisfied that its overall coverage of this election has been fair, consistent, and equitable. In fact, the DA enjoyed greater coverage in proportion to its current representation in local government," Molefe said in a statement.

They only show crap on SABC anyways, so the ANC deserves to be put on SABC, cause they are the worst that crap can be!!!

The majority of our country watches SABC. It is a perfect platform from which the ANC can [-]brainwash[/-] reach the masses. I watched some of it. Many extremely racist things were said. Quite disgusting.

You'd fail dismally as a politician Kreacher. I suggest you keep what your day job is. The SABC being accessible to nearly every household in this country is a very powerful medium for conveying agendas & propaganda. The Nats used it as such and the ANC seem to be seeing it in that same light.

O man, I suggest you lighten up an bit. No sense of humour....

They are just NOT showing it...I want to see where they REFUSE to show it. A slight difference.

The DA is complaining about it. So clearly they wanted the coverage and did not receive it. That is tantamount to a refusal, ESPECIALLY in the particular scenario, i.e. elections.

There have been numerous statements claiming no bias. Can you not see the issue or have you not followed the SABC over the last 3 elections? This always comes up and is always argued. SABC should only broadcast adverts paid by the parties concerned. To broadcast ones rally over another is bias. As a "independant" reporting station, they should even take it on themselves to video the opposition rally and broadcast it.

You have a statement by the DA claiming refusal, who else would we ask about the refusal?

The SABC is clearly nothing but a propaganda machine for the ANC.

Ill confess, i watch absolutely nothing on SABC, but the other night i was visiting friends, and they were watching the "news" bulletin, and just from this, i could figure out their bias

+- 20 min were spent on ANC-related campaigning broadcasts, which basically went like this :

* Showing ANC poster
* Showing ANC supporters
* Showing some ANC person giving a speech
* Speaking to this ANC representative

After 20 mins of this, i finally got to see them talking [no interviews, maybe some archived footage of Zille] about the D.A, the IFP, COPE and [i think] UDM. those 4 parties shared about 2 min's on screen...

Don't forget the "struggle" and apartheid movies shown regularly on SABC during election time.

During the past month I have seen 3 movies set during apartheid on SABC. That is only when I looked what movies are showing on the SABC channels.

Make the people focus on the "struggle of liberation" [i wonder if the work that PW de Klerk did, if it is ever mentioned in these "struggle" movies], and they'll forget about the dismal failure of the present.

Not all great soldiers make great leaders...

these movies only focus on what the people in the townships went through.
