I have win10pro and it is giving me random jumps on explorer.exe and with that everything refreshes as well, desktop icons and open folders as well.

I did do virus scan, a malware bytes scan and a ccleaner scan as well found errors but none fixed the problem.
I really dont want reload windows.

oh and i just installed 2 more sticks of Corsair vengeance 4gb's 24 in total now and a Palit GTX1070 but can remember if it was after that or before that that the problem started.

You could try sfc /scannow in cmd once you have exhausted most common troubleshooting steps is to format and reinstall.

Here is a link to for an ISO, best to get Windows 10 build 1909 (dont get International english just choose english) https://tb.rg-adguard.net/

Because you have W10 Pro you can defer feature updates so it doesnt download build 2004.

I know its a PITA but beats struggling to find that one pesky issue.

Also try these:

Thank you
the scan didnt work but the 1st link did, deleting the icon cash file and restarting worked

Why not just download and install Malwarebytes for Windows and check your system? Also run a hdd diagnostic tool see if it could be your disk that's starting to fail. Also if that didn't improve anything then you should check if you might not have faulty memory modules by reseating each module on the MB and checking the system afterwards.

Check your Event logs.
Try a clean boot with msconfig to disable all apps and tools except those form Microsoft.
If a clean boot works, then you need to identify which software is causing the problem.
Do a chkdsk as well. Do a disk cleanup.
Use a startup manager to select which software should start automatically or not.

Do a sfc scan. Do a scan health.

If nothing works, then you can do an in-place upgrade with a new Windows ISO.
Mount the ISO in Windows with Explorer. Start the setup, you have the choice to keep or remove apps and files.
A Windows refresh (not in-place) usually keeps only your files and remove apps.

That won't help you. It's general information.
Look at the steps I provided above. It's part of troubleshooting. No way around it.

Had the same problem about 3 weeks ago, could not get it sorted, what I did do was created a new user profile, copied all the data to the new profile and it has worked 100% since then.

If the issue is with the icon cache then you can just disable it in the advanced settings, I think its called Folder thumbnails.
