External antenna discussions

Hi There
For the connectors I would go to Poynting. The same for boosting the signal. They provide great equipment and are very helpful

Hi
are there any cheap antennas to boost signal on the B683?

I don't really want to spend R1300 (poyntings) on a hectic omnidirectional antenna?

Is there some cheap ones that really give you a big boost?

Thanks

Hi there we do supply an antenna that boosts your 3G signal I'm using one myself, I must say I'm happy with this antenna. Going from one to 4 signal bars.

Thanks Thiartj - unfortunately i am renting and in a complex, so can't put up an outdoor antenna,
do you have an indoor, or window mounted one?
PANL-A0038 window mount or something like that? - not sure what price its available at but might be R1300

There is also the - OmniDirectional Medium Gain Antenna 4-6 dbi

Or very small omni directional antenna 2dbi

thanks

HI does this antenna come with a mounting bracket ?

they forgot to pay rent:wtf:
not sure, been unavailable for a number of days now... (can check still check specs on poynting europe)

Most benefits is not from antenna gain, as most of gain you immediately lose on the cable, but from the fact that it is directional (so you can tune to the single signal source and eliminate all other) and you can effectively move your receiver to the position of better signal reception and straight signal path.

Well I do have a modem that has a direct plug not a pigtail plug, don't know if that makes a difference?

E367. It has a direct, also called pigtail socket (CRC9), where you can insert your pigtail plug. Perhaps you meant "not an inductive coupler"? Yes.

sajunky, are you aware of a list somewhere that lists all the available USB modem and whether their direct connector is working?
I have Huawei E1820, ZTE MF668 and ZTE K4505Z

I am aware of. I tried to explain that "direct plug and a pigtail plug" are the same things. :)
