my signal strength is -93dBm, speed is around 20M download, but it's enough to use for 2 ppls. I don't think it's need to buy external antennas. But there is buffering if I watch 4K youtube.

I have a external antenna connected with - 71dbm, speeds fluctuate between 20 and 40 Mbps down. I got as high as 64Mbps but it still fluctuates.

4K needs 24mbps, so that might be why you are buffering. Also keep in mind, you will deplete you cap pretty quickly if you are going to stream a lot @ 4K.

Peeps I bought my connectors http://www.otto.co.za/product/ts9-to-sma-female-adaptor-cable/

it is cheaper and the delivery was quick, purchased on Friday received Monday 8:00.

Thanks - just ordered 2 for myself.

Got the SIM in my B315 currently. Decent signal strength, but both up and down speeds averaging around 13Mbps. I know this is because it is connecting on 1800Mhz as opposed to 2600Mhz. B315 does not support 2600 though.
Adapters should make things a lot better as I can use the supplied router now.

I also have not adjusted the antenna at all. Still pointing at the Telkom tower - lol. When I get the adapters, I will fiddle a bit and try figure out where the RAIN tower is.

RSRQ: -7dB
RSRP: -87dBm
RSSI: -65dBm

Not really. My current habits won't change.
The extra bandwidth however, means I don't have to nurse my network when we are all busy doing something.
The current QoS and limiting rules will remain in place whether 10Mbps ADSL or xxxxMbps LTE-A

Got the adapters today, hooked up the router and lined up the antenna.
Getting a pretty consistent 50 to 60Mbps down and just under 20Mbps up. Quite happy with that.
Ping between 16 and 19.

Life is good...

Not really in the know, but I went with the 6 mainly because 11DBI gain vs 9.
Saw it recommended here and there in discussions too.

Got mine from Takealot.

On average 20Mbps down, with a boost here and there to 50. Up was consistent around 13Mbps.

With the antenna, my average is 50/20 and just over 60 in the evenings.

So i would assume the Poynting antenna we got with our Telkom uncapped routers won't work with this?
