I am not entirely sure where the other forumites shop but they are certainly being ripped off from wherever it is they do shop by the sounds of the weird prices they are throwing around.
Please Note: These Prices Exclude VAT.
um.....
So your 200GB drive jumps from R999 to R1,140.
Your 300GB drive jumps from R1,299 to R1,480.
250GB-7200RPM 8MB Cache SATA II R 615
= R701.00
R1300 is a figure pulled out of thin air.

Taking the price of an externally powered 250GB external HD to about R1000.a enclosure costs only like 270 for a coolermaster x craft usb one
That is something different though. A HDD and an enclosure. From the original post it seemed that an actual external HDD was what was wanted.
An external HD is a HD within an enclosure. You could buy them separately and put it together yourself or you could buy it already assembled. Comes to about the same price, but if you like fancy enclosures then you may want to buy them separately.
USB powered externals are more expensive though.
But I still stand by the fact that 1300 for an external 250GB HDD is not 'pulled out of the air' but rather off various pricelists...
admit it! you feel someone ripped you off
fair enough i was focussed on hard drives and not self powered external hard drives.
but your price still came out of thin air...![]()
