I'm not running out of power. Just want to get to place where I pay Eskom even lessMore batteries will also help when you get a 24 hour Eskom cut and there isn't much sun to help you.
I really appreciate the feedback ladies and gents.
I have no doubt that usage can be optimized. I think the biggest issue is running the aircon through the night. This is unfortunately non negotiable.(wife)
One of the adjustments I was thinking of was to change the geysers to "essential." This would allow me to run them during loadshedding straight off the PV when the grid is off.
Why do that when you have 16 panels and 8kW inverter already?Had the same problem as the OP
Got a PTC geyser element from Geyserwise
2 x 455 watt PV panels
Geyserwise ECO controller
Works really well
Think the company is lying @AchmatK @RonSwanson @Speedster can likely confirm that you system probably can't do more than I think maybe 2 to 4 at max. An 8kw inverter cannot handle 36 panels... Unless I'm missing something here.Company said that they could run as many as 36 panels.
Think I will look at a few extra panels. Appreciate the help. Thank you.
If you're trying to go off grid then you'll want to be able to store 4 or 5 days worth of power in your batteries. And a backup generator.I'm not running out of power. Just want to get to place where I pay Eskom even less
Trying to figure out how to get the data off the app. Will post asap.@Crusader1982 post you monthly production and usage stats I wanna see what your system does
But I wanna see what it does on a daily basis accross the month. Something sounds wrong give me stats pls
I fully understand that I can only generate 8Kw, but want to generate 8Kw for longer during the day. At the moment, max I get is 6.8 from 12:00-14:00. Would like to be able to produce that from lets say 11:00-15:00.Think the company is lying @AchmatK @RonSwanson @Speedster can likely confirm that you system probably can't do more than I think maybe 2 to 4 at max. Seriously? You run an aircon and the home's base load all night on 15kw worth of batteries?I'm not running out of power. Just want to get to place where I pay Eskom even less
Does your PV output graph look like a boob?I fully understand that I can only generate 8Kw, but want to generate 8Kw for longer during the day. At the moment, max I get is 6.8 from 12:00-14:00. Would like to be able to produce that from lets say 11:00-15:00.
No. No. No. You don't understand you will actually blow up your system your installer knows Jacks if they said you can put 36 panels on an 8kw that's why I called in @RonSwanson @AchmatK @Speedster they will confirm thisI fully understand that I can only generate 8Kw, but want to generate 8Kw for longer during the day. Yes sir. Aircon draws surprisingly little.Seriously? You run an aircon and the home's base load all night on 15kw worth of batteries?
ScreenshotCan anyone possibly explain how I can copy the data off the Sunsynk app?
I can see where to view all the data on a month to month basis. Not sure how to share it though.
Best post some of your stats.Yes sir. Aircon draws surprisingly little.
I can tell you I am happy to pay eskom 8%. to go off grid your system will never be enough. That's lifestyle changes that simply don't make financial sense when you already running a system this size.If you're trying to go off grid then you'll want to be able to store 4 or 5 days worth of power in your batteries. And a backup generator.
