Definitely was not planning on going 36. They mentioned running it in two lines which I presume they meant something similar to parallel. They are a big company, so I do trust their knowledge.
Was thinking of something along the lines of 4-6 extra panels.

It's a dragon some ppl chase but after a year I realized I was silly and decided no addition to my system could be justified. A forth battery could work nicely on yours tho I have 12 panels but 4 batteries and work beautifully.

After seeing your stats I'll echo this again.

A solar geyser isn't what you want you wanna be off grid get a gas geyser.

You are going to pay so much to go off grid for a few percent points less eskom its simply not worth it. You will never make the returns back

Leave the Eskom grid and hop on to the Gas grid.

IMHO, seeing that you can export, then don't worry about more battery but rather increase your PV to 10kW. Just don't feed back more than you use. Move geysers to essential so you have hot water if the substation explodes or cables get stolen.
 
We only have 5.6kWp installed with 15kWh batteries.
When my son forgets to switch off aircon we still have around 30-40% battery in the morning, what probably makes difference is that it is inverter aircon.
So swap that aircon with more efficient one (one in study is old type and I think it can draw 1.5kWh)

Geyser wise depending on your panel orientation you might be able like us to have batteries charged by 12:00 then you start your geyser (we have 300l one with I'm guessing 3kwh element) and bring it over 60 degrees.
That will enable you that in the morning you still have hot water for showers.

Yesterday was bit cloudy (Durbanville) and we managed to charge batteries almost 100% however did not manage to fully run geyser so this morning it was topped up to 45 degrees but did not use much.

If possible we try to use all electrical appliances during the day so we enter evening with almost full batteries.

So, would you recommend that batteries only get charged by PV? I think at the moment, it gets automatically charged when grid comes back on.
