Extra panels or Solar Geyser?

Its the Samsung AQ12TSBN Split System, so non inverter.
I have 10 panels, 2 batteries. I use an inverter aircon overnight in Summer. You will definitely save. My batteries is 35% to 38% in the morning when we stand up.

As some one else indicated early in this thread, you need to make lifestyle changes.

1. Update your aircons to inverter. Roughly +/-R12k installed depending on brand?
2. Update your appliances - fridges/freezer are on 24/7. This can drastically reduce your electricity usage.
3. I have 4 Pumps - I switch them on when I have excess capacity, my geyser as well.

In November I used about 40 kWh from Eskom, this is about 1.29kWh per day. Mainly because of using the ac overnight. In December and January because of Eskom increased load shedding, I decided to play it safe and charge whenever I can overnight. So now I am roughly at 80kwh from Eskom per month.

I currently run a Hybrid solar system with an 8Kw Inverter, 3 x 5Kwh Batteries and 16 x 455W panels.
This system is just not enough for my household. Currently, I am switching the 2x geysers on for only 2 hrs per day which gives enough hot water.
I am probably 10 units short per day on average, taking into account that we get some cloudy days.
I was wondering what would be more beneficial between going to two Solar geysers for the house and flat, or if I should add more panels?
If so, how many panels would give me the same result as the two solar geysers in trying to gain that 10 units per day?
I am trying to establish which route will make more financial sense?
I have a solar geyser coupled with a gas booster geyser during winter months. Never use electricity for hot water. Have unlimited hot water all year round.
 
This thread got me thinking again about getting an air con, and now I want a braai.
I run retractable fans in our house every room has one and runs almost 24/7 2nd year we had them and they work beautifully for Gauteng summers dead quiet and 60w power. Many ways to skin a cat.

Im craving a braai now too :P

I also got one of those fans and isothermed the whole house. I shouldn’t think about an aircon.

Just scratched in the freezer and got lamb chops, chicken wings and wors.

Yeah we have wonderful insulation in our ceiling barring solar etc one of the best investments to date in the house! The thicker the better!

It discharges to 60% because grid goes down. He uses grid to immediately charge back up to 90%. That's 4.5 kWh of waste just there alone...
Absolutely agree, in the morning battery should be maybe on 30 % and only charged if there is no sun much later on.
Also you want to delay fully charging batteries on sunny day by running all the appliances that you have (pool pump, geyser, washing)

So many badly installed and configured systems out there. Really is a shame.
