So I have taken out the HDD and conected it to my Tower (Win XP Home) and downloaded all the info and thern going to but it back in the laptop and reinstall windows. So thats simple enough. Problem is I need to get my e-mails off. I was using Thunderbird. Can anybody help with my little issue?

Hey Hey

Thunderbird stores email and address book info in a user profile that can usually be found at;

C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\

Also, just as a reminder, from the Mozilla site;
The AppData folder is folder is a hidden folder; to show hidden folders,
open a Windows Explorer window and choose "Organize → Folder and Search Options → Folder Options → View (tab) → Show hidden files and folders".

Hope it helps!
