F1 2008

i remember sector 2 hamilton being .2 up and finishing .6odd up

we will see in a few hours :)

Here are the sector times:

Sector 1:
Hamilton: 21.7
Kubica: 21.7
Raikkonen: 21.8
Massa: 21.9

Sector 2:
Hamilton: 25.0
Kubica: 25.4
Raikkonen: 24.9
Massa: 25.3

Sector 3:
Hamilton: 31.0
Kubica: 31.3
Raikkonen: 31.8
Massa: 31.6

As you can see, Massa and Kubica lost all their time in the second sector. I believe that it must have been at turn 7 (where the track is also breaking up). Massa then made a mistake on his last flying lap (not really a mistake, but a result of turn 10 being messy) and abandoned it after being fastest of all in S1 and a personal best in S2.
 
so i was right hamilton was faster through sector 2 and then faster in sector 3

sounds like a man with a light fuel load to me :), or just a really good lap

time will tell
 
Don't worry killadoob. I suspect that Massa might be a little bit heavier than Raikkonen (1 lap). He also always makes good starts so look for him to get up to 4th around the first corner. On the other hand, Raikkonen usually gets away slowly, so he'll definitely lose some spots.

Nah Raikkonen was quicker than him through S2. I don't think he's light to be honest. He just managed to put the lap together while the other couldn't.
 
hamilton always gets off the line really well

well most of the time

i think if hamilton gets off the line first he will win with ease

should he land 2nd or 3rd i think his race will be over if he is light and maybe come 3rd :)
 
It's difficult to say. One thing's for sure, this race is going to be chaos with turn 10 breaking up. They've resurfaced it overnight, but think of it like this: If they couldn't get it right over the last 3 years, how are they gonna get it right overnight?

Yep, it sucks... pity it had to affect Kimi's race too... wonder what Massa's chances are now...

I would have been highly annoyed if he would have been able to go on, and score points.

He will probably get away with this, its a racing accident.

Attempting to jump a red light should be punishable, had he not hit the Ferrari he would have been penalised, now he maintains the championship lead.

He does belong in a Taxi, rules clearly dont apply when it involves Mr Hand me a Tin...
 
Lol... sounds like sour grapes up top... seriously guys get over it, who can fault having a BMW at the top of the tables for a change! It's not all bad! :D :p
So Massa & Coulthard & Kubica now with sc possibly out again... what next

how can kimi be mad with hamilton after he destroyed sutil's 4th place last gp and also looked like amateur?

gunther even the comentators said that hamilton was lighter before the race

remember i said kubica could have a shot at the title? he will be leading it now

kubica is a super star of note and i think if bmw can get onto the same type of speed as ferrari and mclaren we will have a new world champion and a new polish/kubica era will begin

kubica looks like he is world class and i think could become a legend in f1

what a driver!!!!!!!! im not only talking about this race, he has managed to do well with the 3rd best car all season and even beat the other 2 teams ahead of him in a slower car

Kudos Killa - agreed. Kubica is awesome.
 
Yeah Kubica is brilliant. I honestly don't believe that Hamilton was lighter though. If he was, then it would be by no more than 1 or 2 laps. Kubica might challenge for the title but it will be through consistency rather than speed. BMW is a bit off the pace at the moment. Kubica is a brilliant, amazing driver. Expecting some amazing things in the future.
 
Yep, BMW are not quite there, so they will take whatever comes their way... and if you can finish races while the opposition retire, you can win... who remembers Heinz Harald Frenzen third in a Jordan through consistency...
He nearly did the unthinkable...

Some races it pays to not be the target.
