F1 2011 thread

I have no issues with racing, destroying a man race because you know you know you will finished 6th regardless is a cheap shot and not very nice.

Trying to one thing, knowing you will destroy his race because you want position well that ain't racing.

Hamilton is exciting, which is always good for us.

Did he destroy the other drivers races? I don't think so, he was being aggressive which is the key to going up the leader board, however it seems the other drivers turned into him to soon, they should have given him some space.

I'm sorry... Hamilton? exciting?

I tend to disagree.. I think he is a immature racer who has a massive ego problem...

Well yes, they all have ego's... and ego problems at that.. but Hamilton is just over the top... and in my opinion, its not entirely justified since he hasn't shown to be the kind of brilliant racer that other ppl have.. he's just been lucky to be in one of the better cars of recent years.

Geesus dude, did you read before pressing enter??

Nope a couple too many haha, did you have anything interesting say?

Hamilton's ego is getting worse. He threw his hands up because massa was in front of him during quali haha. What a chop he is becoming.

Wasn't he always one? :p

Naaa for a driver of his talent he was always fairly down to earth, now he claims teams are purposely blocking, throwing his hands around when massa is like 500km's from him :D

He also looks like a sad boy when he is on the podium. I think he needs to relax and just understand vettel is by far the best driver :D.

That's why dear old Webber is always on the podium. :p

You mean like Barrichello or Massa when they were driving in the "same" Ferrari as Shumacher? Perhaps you mean like Alonso's McLaren being the "same" as Lewis's... I can go back some more if you'd like, quite a bit back actually. Some cars are more equal than others... Just saying.

How do you know it isn't driver's ability too?

Bahrain F1 back on.

I hope the teams and drivers boycott this race. Bernie is a money grabbing tyrant.

Yea because webber is always chasing for wins right? So the car must be so amazing that anyone ******* could dominate it with :D.

I say drop webber and put the ham in his place and let's get some prost senna epic going, i have no doubt hamilton and vettel are the best drivers on the grid, i just think vettel has that little bit extra over hamilton. I hope mclaren get there car right and i hope we see two equal cars going for it this season.

They must get rid of bahrain, bunch of slaughtering murders!!!!!

There is most likely some truth in that, but that would be dumb from the teams perspective, Its better having both your drivers on the podium than one. If I remember correctly Barrichello did do well in a Ferrari. How many Ferrari 1-2's were there?
Yes the teams no 1 drivers gets preference in terms of strategy but when it comes down to the cars both would be on the same level, minus the set up the driver prefers. Not all drivers are equal, if you look at the telemetry is clear as day light, unfortunately we aren't privy to that information.
As for Alonso, he had a hand in his own demise at McLaren. (Not saying McLaren want also at fault)

Here's an interesting video about Michael and his driving style VS some of the guys he faced in his early days http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk2p2nRK-p4

The same might be true for Vettel and Hamilton VS the rest and even between each other, but we'll never know :p

Yeah, I'd really love to see some of that telemetry but it's never going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, some cars are more equal than others AND some drivers are more equal than others as well. I grew up with my dad telling me stories of Fangio and Moss, both in Mercedes Benz race cars. Moss would apparently follow Fangio around the track while Fangio would signal him gear change and breaking points. By the end of the sessions, Fangio's crew could pack the car and head off to the next event while Moss's crew had to rebuild his engines... Same cars, both fast, different styles, different stresses... But put yourself in Christian Horner's place... You have a really quick 23 year old driver with another 10 years or so to go at the top of his game and you have a really quick 34 year old driver with a year or two left. How about Martin Whitmarsh at McLaren? Lewis is 26 and Jenson's 31. If it fell to you, who would you focus your development around?
