I missed the race (bowls event), and only saw the last turn. But I'm seriously missing everyone who told me how k@k the Mercedes would be :D

Hey, all we had to go on was their performance in the first two races... and pretty much the whole 2011 season. :p It's an impressive turn-around, for sure - orsm to see so many teams able to fight for wins!

Wow, how'd he do that?

Too quick on the KERS button.

I missed the race today unfortunately but it seems there were alot of good performances today from a range of drivers..

Clearly congratulations to Nico for that win.

But credit must go to Hamilton, Button, Vettel, Webber, Grosjean and Senna for their drives as well... they got decent placings from a not so great quali.

Sorry who has from the middle of the pack in recent years?

It is near impossible to win from the middle of the pack unless it rains or everyone in front of you retires. He started 11th and nearly got a podium from guys who started 4th and 7th. Oddly enough he almost a beat a guy who started 7th and a guy who started 4th. Yea i would ultra worried if i was him :D.

Hmmm i guess no matter what he does he won't get credit :D. He will need to win from 11th before anyone gives him credit and nobody in normal circumstances will do that. He drove and made a couple good overtakes but geez there was some exciting racing.

Besides if he can only win from the front then maybe that means you are a class above the rest because so far this season hamilton has failed twice. Button way way better than hamilton, he was chasing a win while the ham was struggling to get a podium.

Would have liked to see Schumi finish the race - fight for second would have been even better.

Killa, I wouldnt go as far to say "Button way way better than hamilton" - hamilton started 7th and finished 3rd, so 4 places up; Button started 5th, finished 2nd so 3 places up.
I know Button had a 6 sec delay in the pits, but remember hamilton qualified 2nd...

All in all its still good to see a 2-3 finish from McL

Well some people think guys should be able to win from 11th so hamilton must stink if he cannot win from 7th :p or even pole for goodness sake.

Just compare Lewis % wins from Pole vs Vettel wins from pole.
I'm not sure how you figure Button is better than Hamilton when Hamilton is ahead. Never mind, I'm sure Byrne will be back :D

Well in the races that button has finished he has beaten hamilton. So you can kinda call 2 out of 3. To me that seems to be doing better but the season is long.

So what you are saying about vettel and pole is that he converts pole much much better than hamilton, yet hamilton is the better driver or vettel has just had the car while hamilton has only ever driven rubbish?

Hamilton has lost his sparkle in my opinion, good one lap driver but cannot dominate a field when he really should be doing so. Put vettel in a good car and he will get pole after pole and convert them to wins. Some say it's the car but i highly doubt the car is the only thing that makes a driver good. It still needs to be stuck on pole and it still needs to be brought home. Webber showed that a good car means nothing without the driver to bring it home.

I wouldn't say Hamilton has completely lost his sparkle, but I would say he is starting to become a Massa like driver for Maclaren. It just seems like if he is not in the top 5, you hardly hear of him in the race... like that position suddenly converts him to an average driver....?

I've just been crying like a baby over Ferrari these last few weeks, hence my lack of posting :D

The engineering that goes into making those cars is simply amazing. In 10 years time I wonder how they will look and if Ferrari will have their mojo back.

Ferrari will make a come back, they have arguably one of the best drivers if not the best driver in their car. All they need is a couple upgrades and they should be good to go or they better hope for rain every race :D. They have won a race so it's not all doom and gloom for now.

Agree'd. I think it was just painful seeing the true pace of Ferrari this last race. Can't believe they've progessively been going backwards with development....

I'll support them through thick and thin though!! Plus as you mentioned, Alonso can perform wonders when the situation is open to it, so all is not lost!

Anyone heard what's happened with Force India? I heard the commentators muttering about them not practising today.

Four of their pit crew ended up in the middle of a bit of a scuffle last night - apparently had a Molotov cocktail drop next to their car. They weren't specifically targeted, mind you, they just ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time on the way back to the hotel.

They did run in FP1, but they'll be leaving the circuit early so they can be back at their lodgings before dark.

All things considered, I don't think F1 should've been in Bahrain this weekend... :(
