F1 2012 thread

Aero grip translates into mechanical grip. Ultimately, all grip comes from the tyres.

Having said that, the tyres on slower cars might be experiencing more lateral loading due to the lower levels of DOWNforce and that could contribute to faster tyre wear.

That is not true dude, the reason tyres can grip well or poorly is based on the design of the car surely. A poor aero package will mean you chomp through the tyres faster. The aero package is what makes the car fast or slow. Look at the kuk teams they got the same tyres but they are slow because their aero package sucks.

You agree with me whether you'll admit it or not. All grip comes from the tyres and aero "grip" is expressed through the tyres.

I'm anticipating a great race from Grosjean today. Should be able to move up to 3rd from the start and hopefully do well from there on.

Even better than that! :wtf:
:)

So far Grosjean on Hamilton is the move of the race.

Alonso for the drive of the day IMO. I don't think he could have squeezed more from that Ferrari.
And goldenballs has a puncture! :D

Safety car spoiled what would have been an epic race

On the contrary, the SC has made this an epic race! :D
Alonso has been stunning today. For Hamilton to have saved something after the jack disasters and under performance... Lucky man...
Raikkonen is looking good for second too.

At this stage I'm inclined to suggest:

1. Alonso
2. Raikkonen
3. Hamilton

Raikkonen with DRS is going to be hard to keep behind him (Hamilton).

I get the impression Raikonnen will nail Hamilton soon. Alonso might have chowed his tires. I'm hoping for a cracker of a final lap.

How so? We missed a battle between Hamilton, Raikkonen and Alonso based on what the individual drivers could do in their cars? Instead safety car gave away easy points. Excitingly artificial, and a safety car for one PIECE of debris! Yet 4 Marshalls on track pushing the broken RBR gets no safety car?

WHOA.... Hamilton is struggling!
And BANG he's out! Maldonado you suck!

Schumi is on the podium!

Advantage Alonso for the championship for sure.

Normally the stewards don't hesitate penalizing a driver once the infringement is announced. I found it quite strange that they let it slide even thought they announced that they were investigating it. Oh well, Hamilton's out anyway...Pity.

What an epic win for Alonso. Those front tyres are shot! He's stopped on circuit now lol... we may see something more from the FIA here... I wonder lol. I hope they don't take it away after the win. He deserved that win 100%

I'm not happy about the Ham, but glad Vettel went too... keeps it closer. That said, advantage Alonso for sure.
