The jury is out for who I want to win this year. Alonso, Hamilton (unlikely), Button, Perez or Kimi will do me nicely.

A win for Massa would be epic. At least if he shows his old form. I'd also like to see Webber liven up the scene at redbull.

Just out of interest who do you guys support? As in all the time? Do you support drivers or manufacturerers,

The only driver I have ever supported was Michael Schumacher. When he first retired my interest in the sport took a massive knock as I honestly couldn't care less about any of the other drivers.

Right now though, I am hoping that Williams will rise again.

I also like him until he made f1 boring then i was over f1 for awhile. Then alonso landed and boom i started watching again. These days i don't care who wins, all i want 5-6 teams within touching distance of each other. Great gp's and the last 3 seasons have been absolutely amazing.

I cannot wait, after this weekend and the next weekend and then its go time bitches!!!!!!!!! woooooohooooooooooooooooooo, i really really hope mercedes have given rosberg and hamilton a car that can win races. Not a big fan of hamilton but anyone who challenge for wins is always good and rosberg i know can also do as well as hamilton if he isn't driving a tractor.

Rosberg vs Hamilton will be interesting... like Schumi vs Rosberg was to some degree when the Merc wasn't failing.

I will support Kimi again this year but realistically me thinks Championship will be between Vettel and Alonso. Out of the two would then support Vettel can't stand that whiny Alonso or Ferrari.

Been a Ferrari fan since I was 6 and watched my first F1 race when my grandparents got satellite SABC, liked them because they were red:) Used to hate Alonso for messing up schumi's final season until he started giving Hamilton *** then became a huge fan, I absolutely hate Hamilton!!!!!

Title this year will be between Vettel and Alonso methinks, hopefully Kimi can chuck in a few suprises(the most entertaining driver on the grid by far) and Massa keeps up his form from the end of last year.

I always supported McLaren since watching Prost and Senna kicking ass back in the day.

Hamilton reminds me a lot of Senna: quite ruthless on track and lots of natural speed. Just like Senna, he did not make the most rational of decisions but is always spectacular to watch. If the Mercedes is good, then it will be an awesome year watching Vettel, Alonso, Button, Hamilton, Kimi and maybe even that spineless worm Massa fighting for victory.

Also, it would be nice if Perez is competitive immediately and doesn't let Button call the shots.

For sure. And how can anyone be motivated with that in mind?

My point exactly. Massa let Alonso by a while back and there was a huge outcry about letting the drivers race each other versus F1 being a team sport. After that he probably signed a contract stating that he'll step aside for Alonso if Alonso has a hissy fit and wants to start swinging his handbag.

Coulthard let Hakkinen by in 1997 at Jerez and Hakkinen went on to be a double World Champion and Coulthard went on to be a commentator. Barrichello did the same for Schumacher and I last saw him struggling for pace in the IndyCar series. Irvine did the same, made a truckload of money, and is living the life but never looked like World Championship material again. My point of view is that being in F1, in a competitive car with the aim of finishing second is really pointless.

However, these days you question why so many drivers pay their way into getting a drive as well as their aim of being there. Maybe being number 2 in a good car is better than being number in a piece of junk. The extra cash that Maranello probably throw Massa's way surely convinced him that a good sidestep is money in the bank.

Driving for the most iconic name in the sport: Check.
Driving one of the fastest cars nearly every season: Check.
Opportunity to win a few races here and there: Check.
Frequent podium appearances: Check
Nice paycheck: Check.

Should be enough motivation for the average driver.

Looks like McLaren are set to go back to using Honda engines from 2015 onwards.

Now that would be epic.

You forgot one...
Slowing down for your team mate who you beat fair and square: Check
You can be sure when there's a questionable new part to test during a race, Massa will be given the part unless they are confident it's going to improve the time.
That said, it might not be the case for the first 5 races or so.

I wonder what happened to their ambitious Mclaren power unit? Do you know if they're still going down that road? For me, next year is going to be the start of a new era in F1 with the power unit being the big player. More efficient and higher output engines are going to be winning races again... less about the bodywork. More efficient engines are mostly what modern cars are about after all... that way we can all benefit from the cool stuff they produce in F1.

Don't think McLaren are going down the route of making their own engine anymore. It seems they are more interested in investing their time into Honda's development of a 1.6 Turbo.

McLaren have never really made an engine before, it would cost a lot of money and could possibly fail, better to go with a company that knows what they are doing.
