Boring race. But that's more or less normal for Barcelona. Ferrari was outstanding with Kimi keeping them honest. Mercedes was downright embarrassing. Hamilton was lucky he didn't get overtaken by the Marussias and Caterhams, never mind the Williams.

Well it's well known mercedes are good in quali but their tires suck. Well not tires lol but the car doesn't know how to keep the tires in good shape. With hamilton a car that chows it's tires so quickly won't be good for him.

Seems merc won't compete this year other than one timed laps :(. Hamilton finally driving at the back of the field, i just got passed by a williams for every other driver on the grid that is something they had to go through to get a good drive and all he can do is bitch about it.

We know our car is slow hamilton, letting us know it still doesn't changed the fact that it's slow. We also watch the race so we can see the williams coming and we know it's coming before you so why state the obvious? Now drive slower!!!!!!!!!! i can't :D. He should go balls to wall and try an extra pitstop. How is it possible that merc are the worst when it comes to tires wear and can it be fixed? Hamilton was silly to move although look at mclaren. It is sad though that his pace is dictated by his tires and not his obvious talent. So vettel kimi and alsono for title push, let's hope vettel doesn't win.

terrible gp though, the tires are too extreme at the moment. It's actually becoming ridiculous. Next year pitstops every 8 laps, just bring back the fuel rigs and give them the same tires as last year if you want to add spice. I want to see the likes of massa draggging the fuel pump down the pit lane again LOL, so many good moments.

Ferrari did bloody well. Alonso's start was enormous! I never like him in years before, but damn, he is a fine driver. I'll say he deserved this one, he has been working hard to get it. Not to mention his attitude has improved so much in the last 3 years, he is more mature, more diplomatic and actually interesting to listen to post race these days.

As for Kimi, dam son, when are you going to get that start working for you! I love old Kimi, always been a fan, he is by far the most interesting character in F1 at the moment. I have not done the maths, but I'm sure if he keeps up these 2nd place finishes all the time, while the rest swop 1st so regularly, he could well win the season. only 2 races to go and he will match Schumi's record of consecutive finishes in the points.

Soon after the race when the Ferrari drivers were preparing for the podium Alonso was on the phone and i presume the tperson asked for Felipe and Alonso said something like this "Suse Felipe" . Felipe then took the phone from Alonso. What i want to know is what language was Alonso speaking ? spanish or Portuguese ?

Tyre management is playing a massive role in victories. Imo, it's no longer about having the fastest car.

I just thought I'd drop in and give my seal of approval on this race :D
Really happy for Ferrari and Alonso. Massa finally seemed to have a good outing! Hopefully this is consistent form for the rest of the season....

As much as I want Alonso to win this years Championship, I think Kimi may be the victor overall. I know Spain is regarded as being heavy on tyres, but can't imagine it's the only one with that rep. Unless the other teams get their tyre wear under control (RBR surprisingly entered that list, even after their last showing), this could turn out to be a 2 horse race. There is a pun intended there, but Massa will need to do a lot.

Pirelli to revise tyre compounds:

"Our aim is to provide the teams with a new range which mixes the stability of the 2012 tyres and the performance of the current ones," said Paul Hembery. "As a company, we have always moved quickly to make improvements where we see them to be necessary. After evaluating data from the first few races this year, we've decided to introduce a further evolution as it became clear at the Spanish Grand Prix that the number of pit stops was too high. The Spanish Grand Prix was won with four pit stops, which has only happened once before in our history. These changes will also mean that the tyres are not worked quite as hard, reducing the number of pit stops."

Honda are coming back to F1!

http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1...ms-F1-return-and-McLaren-engine-deal-for-2015

Honda will return to Formula 1 as an engine supplier and reunite with McLaren from 2015, the Japanese manufacturer giant has officially confirmed.

Following months of growing speculation that McLaren were poised to end their near two-decade relationship with Mercedes and revive their previously all-conquering partnership Honda from the end of next season, Honda's CEO confirmed the deal in a press conference in Japan on Thursday.

McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh was also in attendance at the event and expressed his confidence that the second incarnation of the partnership could live up to the multiple title-winning success of the first, which lasted for five seasons between 1988 and 1992.

"Together Honda and McLaren have a great legacy," Whitmarsh said.

"As we look to the future Honda and McLaren are utterly committed to maintaining that legacy and being successful once more."

The announcement means that McLaren will only run current partner Mercedes' new engines for one solitary year of F1's new V6 turbo engine regulations, the two parties having been together since 1995.

Honda last competed in F1, then as a team owner, in 2008 but abruptly quit the sport and sold their Brackley-based team to Ross Brawn in wake of plunging sales of their road cars amid the worldwide financial crisis.

Reacting to the breaking news in the UK on Thursday morning, Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft said: "Personally I think it's great for the sport that Honda are returning. With V6 units it makes sense to them now but pressure is on to deliver."

Not too sure if anybody saw the article of Pirelli changing the compound in there tyres. And then I saw somebody comment and this got me thinking.

Certain cars (Ferrari and Lotus) are making the tyres work, so you can make it work to a certain extent. So why change it ? I am not a Ferrari fan, never really liked them. But I think this is wrong.

Why change something in the middle of the season.

I dont think they are changing the compound, just the structure of the tyres.

My apologies, I am not an expert in this field. But why change it, some cars are making it work

Several teams complained. Apparently, Red Bull complained the most. I think the recent de-lamination issues was the clincher.

I agree that Lotus and Ferrari got it working whereas Mercedes clearly lost the plot. Lotus complained after the Pirelli announcement that changing the compounds now is unfair since the everyone is using the same tires and they all had equal opportunity to test the tires and get their cars optimised. Also, the FIA has declined Pirelli's request to revert to the 2012 spec compounds.

The old man and I have made an agreement that we'll be going to the Monaco GP next year.

I have a friend who's going to Spa this year, has ticket right next to Eau Rouge. Bastard.

Spa is my favorite circuit and the race that I would see above any other! Kick your friend in the balls for me to express my jealousy.

Monaco is second on my list so I'll be equally jealous of you next year. :(
