Another good day at the office for Lewis :D

Wow, those Williams! Impressive speed  Nice to see Massa on the podium

Yeah its been a while, though I would have preferred Bottas there. Sir Frank must be ecstatic.

Something about 'software problems' with 'start mode' etc...awful start, but great racing after that. Rosberg missed chicane twice.

What the hell was up with those two chicanes? Were they intimidating to Rosberg? He gave his position away the second time.

Usual occurrence, Rettifilo catches out the most experienced drivers. It will pick on drivers in the race :D

A good race with some close battles, far from the most boring race this year.

Ricciardo - He's showing some serious skill, the more I see him race the more I become a fan. I still want to see if he has the ruthlessness to become a world champion one day.

Bottas - Great drive, showing skill in a quick car.

Hamilton - Never a fan of his, but kudos to him for driving a great race and pressuring Roseberg until he made a mistake (again).

Rosberg - I want him to be world champion this year, but only because I dislike Hamilton. Rosberg showed a lack of mental discipline that ultimately cost him first, which was very disappointing. Was also disappointed to see how he tried to exclude Hamilton post race before the podium by driving the conversations in Italian instead of English.

Alonso - He's had an amazing reliability record that had to come to an end some time, that's racing I guess.

Magnussen - He needs to be careful, the last thing he wants to do is create a negative reputation in his rookie year.

I've gone through the full gamut of opinion with regards to Hamilton:

2007: Wow! check this kid!

2008: he's getting quicker, and he's beating Alonso!

2009 - 2014: Watched him cry, moan, laugh, sulk, and well, pretty much everything else. Just shut up and drive, kid!

I don't actually care any more. Hamilton does his best work on the track, in a fast car. When his helmets on and you can neither see him nor hear him. And let's face it, that's what he's paid to do. And he does it well. I just wish they'd stop broadcasting his whiny outbursts on team radio.

I used to think Rosberg was more mature, but I'm not so sure any more.

I'm enjoying watching this Merc battle, and seeing Bottas and Ricciardo snapping at their heels. Haven't enjoyed a season so much in years, and I've seen every race since 1984.

Yeah I also thought that was a bit juvenile. Like he was saying "Hey Lewis, this is what growing up in Monaco does for you, you working-class brat!". To be fair though, Lewis seemed to be more interested in getting his hair right and then seeing what life was like as a 'towel-head"!

Ferraris DNF was unexpected and worrying. Historically they have always done well there.

Not sure if Mattiacci is lost or just battling to fix Domenicalis fukk up just as Boulier is having to fix the Whitmarsh legacy.

This :D

Outdriven 100% by a rookie (to the team). And legitimately.

I am a Ricciardo fan, but let's have some reality. Vettel made the wrong move to come in at lap 19...Ricciardo came in nearly last of all, given his position at that time it made sense. So in reality, you had a duel between one set of tyres approaching the 'cliff' and another with a lot of 'meat'...and given the queue of cars before getting to Vettel, he had the advantage of leapfrogging with DRS.

As for whinging, give us a break. Hamilton has whinged no more than Alonso, Vettel, Raikonnen et al at various stages. In the last race he was right to tell the team to pull him in early and save the engine...quite right in the end, whatever the circumstances leading up to it, there was no point in hammerring to the finish outside points.

Mattiaci is being groomed to replace Montezemelo, pure and simple. He's a stop-gap man. He has to have a tenure as the race team manager under his belt in order to fill that role eventually.

I never got the impression Domenicali effed up. I just think that the whole "spaghetti western" style of Ferrari is returning post - Brawn / Todt / Byrne / Schumi.

And Whitmarsh was always just a Ron Dennis / McLaren Board Hand Puppet in my opinion. I think Ron knows this and is trying to right it now, but it's maybe a bit late. They've been ploughing too many resources into making road cars and not enough into making racing cars in recent years.

I disagree.

Look at the Todt tenure and compare with Domenicali, its like cheese and chalk. The only thing he won was a constructors championship in 2008 which in essence was a spill over of Todt's 2007 work where Kimi took the title and Ferrari won constructors.

2012 was more successful than any other year with 2nd but overall in his tenure imo he was a failure - one expects much better from a team having been longest in the sport and a huge budget.
