F1 2014 thread

Mercedes must piss off and take that whiny brat Hamilton with them, if they do well in this championship I'm gonna be ****ed off...

I'm pleasantly surprised at the FP 1 & 2 rounds. I was expecting huge retirements. Lets hope these cars can maintain for 60 - 70 odd laps...

I had not counted on Kimi being so much slower than Alonso. I reckon Alonso drove the hell out of that Ferrari last year, making it seem better than it actually was.

Okay Alonso managed 3rd in fp2 , 0.5 sec behind lewis. Kimi had a problem with his gear box.

I feel ferrari is still the fastest. Maybe not in qualifying but certainly in the race. Watchout for redbull i think they are way better off than most people think.

100kg of fuel is a gamechanger. Gas guzzlers will struggle. As for tyres , they are much harder now than last year so they will be less of a factor
 
Things looking good for Merc. Interesting that no one is saying a word anymore about Lewis making a blunder moving to Merc. Truly inspired decision. Go Lewis :D:D

Ferrari is not as quick as the Merc, the engine also seems to be thirsty. But they have been very reliable. If Merc fails to finish they are in with a chance.

RB is not as bad as everyone thought but they are definitely not as quick as Ferrari.

All in all good job Lewis and Merc. The car looks amazing.

Kimi and Alonso were on two different programs. From the times it did look like Kimi was carrying a near full load of fuel.
 
Mercedes has some incredible pace. Their long run pace wasn't that bad either. Somehow I just knew that Sebbie wouldn't do too bad in FP. Although I heard that was the most he could squeeze out of his car.
 
I really hope Alonso can win the title again.....it's been some time now.

Also good for Williams having the Merc engine now. Anything to help Williams...
 
dont be fooled. williams is nothing again this season. the best they can do is mid field. front runners will be ferrari red bull and merc.

Hulkenberg has the last laugh. he really wanted to drive for lotus and they choose pastor

That I def agree with, they have really had bad luck since splitting with BMW.

I think Sam Michael had something to do with it, not sure why McLaren hired him, don't rate him as a good sporting director.

This may not be the case, Williams has been around since '69, and have won 9 constructors and 7 drivers championships.

That's a very good track record in F1, speaks for something.

In a way I agree with this.

Mercedes have inherited years of development on the Merc engine by a number of teams.
