Man that DRS have been a pet hate of mine since it was introduced. Just gives the fastest car even more of an advantage.
It did have it's place in F1, at times every race looked like a Monaco procession until it got introduced, however seeing the cars being able to follow closely now, it might be time to toss it.
If they get rid of the DRS, it would be a good idea to increase the wind tunnel penalties for the top teams even more, so as to level the playing field.
Or ban wind tunnels, just kidding...

There's a lot of mockery, but no hate. Except from you. I see you deleted your comment about how you can't stand Max and his toxic team. Now you're all about Go Checo, deserved win, and please stop the hate, to try and seem neutral.

I didn't see anyone complaining about please stop the hate when you were going on about poop shoots the whole week. Or even after your deleted comment about how you can't stand the toxic red bull team. But anyway, you do you... ;)

I also don't like RB, but I don't think I've ever come across anyone that doesn't like Checo. There's probably very few people that won't celebrate with Checo, he is a very cool personality.

...but you'd be swinging from the rafters in support of Le Clerc if it was him complaining about Max, and then calling Max a cheat trying to gain that little bit more of a gap.

Disclaimer: Not a fan of Max...

Nah, I'm not a Clucky fan but Clucky isn't a ****.

Wouldn't this thread be great if there was a separate thread for the midfield runners? Then all the intelligent Redbull and Ferrari supporters can share knowledge and facts, without the constant complaining and crying of the midfield.

It's two races in, in a new season with new cars, much can still change in this year. Mercedes was on the back foot last year as well and then came back big time. And considering RB reliability so far this year it's not a given that they'd end up amongst the top runners constantly. Just look at the constructors points so far...

So far it seems like Ferrari's season to lose. Really hoping Mclaren figure something out and the merc engine gets fixed.

I thought they won 3 of the first 4 races?

It's ridiculous that sport fans get this worked up over half manufactured personalities and drama pushed to you by the entertainment empire that is the FIA - selective radio messages, screen time etc.

What we need is another thread running in parallel called "F1 2022 - Kardashian Drama Version"

I dont think the race would've been half as entertaining last night if it wasn't for DRS.
Yeah, it's added an interesting dynamic, that and the spec changes that have altered the ability for cars to be able to follow for the duration of the race without too many side effects.

DRS will offer different advantages at different tracks. Having 2 DRS zones so close together at Jeddah means getting passed in the first DRS zone at the exit of turn 19 could be reversed going into the one at turn 25. It was quite amusing watching drivers resist the urge to over take at the turn 19 zone knowing they would be passed further on.

All in all it was an entertaining and interesting race. The season is setup nicely going forward.

One feels Ferrari need to take full advantage of the superior performance they currently enjoying. The Mercs will push hard further down the road, much like they did in 2021.

Er, what?
the first 2 races of last year:

2021 Bahrain GP results: 1 - HAM; 2 - VER; 3 - BOT; 4 - NOR; 5 - PER
2021 Emilia Romagna GP: 1 - VER; 2 - HAM; 3 - NOR; 4 - LEC; 5 - SAI (Perez was 11; Bottas DNF...at this stage MERC were ahead on points; Hamilton was ahead by 1).

Hamilon then won the next 2 races (Portugal & Spain), with Verstappen winning in Monaco. At the same stage, both Bottas & Perez were contributing points but in Monaco Hamilton finished 7th and Bottas was a DNF.
RBR won the next 4 races (remember Hamilton hitting the wrong button!).

If you're going to make a statement at least get some of the facts straight. The Merc was really right up there from the start!

If I may, can I address the elephant in the room......

Without the fastest and dominant car:
Are you new to F1?

Car is 90%, driver 10%, that unfortunately has been the reality since the beginning of time. The exceptions to that are few and far between. The sooner you wake up to that reality the better, for the elephant in the room...

Well in the first 15 races, Red bull racing bagged the most constructors points in 8 races v Mercedes 5. Max 7 wins, Lewis 5. It was really only towards the end of the season that Merc gained any sort of ascendency.

Try reading with comprehension next time. I never mentioned just the first two races, I said they were on the back foot last year, and they were until they did the engine upgrade. Then we had lots of tears on here about them possibly cheating. So yes, there's still 21 races to go, it's foolish to declare a championship winner two races in, and that was my point.

I don't think it's inaccurate to state Merc were on the back foot. Yes they were up there but they weren't dominating like in the past. They were playing catchup.

Look at the first 15 races of 2019 if you want to see what a dominant start to the season they'd be used to...

Bagged the most constructors point in 10 out of 15 races with Hamilton winning 8.. Red Bull were nowhere..
