Seven Penalty Points​

Checo is now on seven penalty points. He’s over halfway to a race ban, which is 12 points in 12 months.

Emilia Romagna GP – Two Points
Expires: 18th April 2022
Reason: overtaking two cars during a safety car period.

Austrian GP – Two Points
Expires: 4th July 2022
Reason: forcing Leclerc off the track.

Austrian GP – Two Points
Expires: 4th July 2022
Reason: forcing Leclerc off the track… again.

Italian GP – One Point
Expires: 12th September 2022
Reason: left the track and gained a lasting advantage.

You don't get 7 demerits for one offense. He is literally tied with Verstappen in 2nd place except some of his expire earlier. Bottas is on 5. It's not about one event, it's about stuff throughout the past 12 months.

Yeah obviously. I was being facetious. I know how the demerit system works, but I couldn't for the life of me remember what had caused them to be handed out. Dave pointed them out.
