Would that not have been once they'd both been warned?
I went back on the cams way before the warnings came, when VER was still second. If im correct it's around the 1hr 40m mark but it's very possible these were done even earlier in the race and the FIA were just holding onto it.

It's a little manipulative if they did. It's kind of like them deferring incidents to after the race and then minimising multiple infractions with warnings for some and penalties for others that, if handled timeously, would've been a straight forward penalty at the time for each.

For once I'm happy that this coming weekends races is at odd hours, my wife's niece passed away so we'll be busy all weekend with the funeral, will then at least be able to watch the F1 live.
Condolences to you & your family.

I miss the days when F1 developments were just announced as they happened and rumours were left to things that weren't decided.
Caroper will be along shortly to say that it's Liberty building hype for Netflix and Drive to Survive...

Maybe it was actually a bit of misdirection?

"Look everyone, Max is over the line. And again. And again, and there he goes again" (While I am doing the same thing myself)...
I guess he was playing follow the leader

...or just desperate to not finish the season without a win, so he decided he'd do it, noticed Verstappen was too (Hamilton had been warned before, maybe), and then wanted to distract from those extra few metres he was trying to make up.
Funny, when he was told to stop he still couldn't catch Verstappen who had also been told to stop.
