If this is the case, then I'll skip this season. Haven't watched the other 3. Are they good?
I haven't watched since the first season for this reason. It is all the same; they take bits and pieces to create drama. They will take a sound bite from one race and play it over an unrelated incident. Comments out of context.

Initially it was a bit of meme, but now it is quite clear what they are doing that the drivers are starting to say something.

I think you're all missing the point.

Drive To Survive isn't aimed at people who watch every race and practice and qualifying session and anorak out over them.

I've been a F1 fan since I can remember. Sometime in the early 80's is my first memory of watching a race. However, I haven't really watched an entire race in the last 5 or 6 years, and for me, the series was thoroughly entertaining.

If you look at it from a non-F! fan's perspective, it's an entertaining thing on tv. I'm sure Netflix know this and market it at that audience.

It's entertaining and disingenuous. Essentially a lie for the most part. That is what's fast becoming the point.
If 2 racers are genuinely friends in a highly competitive sport, why create the impression they're really enemies. It's all money. Nothing more. But it isn't necessarily the truth.

It has good production quality with an excellent Subject which has been rendered completely unwatchable.

It has all of the worst aspects of Reality TV, non of the benefits of a Documentary, and a script that even a Soap Opera would be shamed to air.

It is perfect for the Social Media generation with short attention span, but a totally different story line from the one we watched Live.

Certainly not recommended for any true F1 fan, though even my sister now considers herself an expert on F1 having never seen a full race.

Poor woman has had to listen to you, it's a labour of love. She probably is an expert by now hehehe

I would assume 90% or more of the viewers of that show have only in passing seen snippets of an F1 race.
That show is not for purists. Debating it where the purists are is like a cows opinion. It's moo.

As she lives in England most of the Time were only get to talk about it occasionally .
But you are right, I spend that time correcting her DTS fueled misconceptions.

DTS coincided with a surge in popularity of the sport. It is a gateway. Not good having new fans coming in to the sport with a twisted perception of what is really going on.

Ferrari engine teams are doing well. Merc engine teams seem to be struggling a little bit.

They may be even faster if they took the trouble to buff that paint to a nice smooth, gloss finish
Surprisingly, the matt finish was first introduced by Red Bull in order to reduce drag.
I don't recall the full details but it did start appearing on rad cars shortly after, the Land Rover Discovery the being first time I saw it.

Paintwork on the Landy is the smallest culprit regarding drag!
