Fuel Pump's apparently, and it is a standard part that all teams have to use.
I suspect it will effect other teams soon if the FIA don't fix it or drop the requirement to use it.
Okay so it's a Honda Poop Chute. Excellent.
No it is officially a RBPT Poop Shute.Okay so it's a Honda Poop Chute. Excellent.
According to Christian Horner, yes.
The fuel pump caused Perez's engine to seize? You saw how it locked up his back wheels and caused the spin?
Can we just call it a Poop Chute to avoid confusion then?No it is officially a RBPT Poop Shute.
It is actually a Honda but the Media have been told to call it RBPT.
Sort of like the Clock work motor that they badged as Tag Heuer to protect Renault.
According to Christian Horner, yes.
Technically no as it was the fuel pump not the Poop Shute so:Can we just call it a Poop Chute to avoid confusion then?
DNF:
1) Gasly - Alpha Tauri (Poop Chute)
2) Verstappen - Red Bull (Poop Chute)
3) Perez - Red Bull (Poop Chute)
Technically no as it was the fuel pump not the Poop Shute so:
DNF:
1) Gasly - Alpha Tauri (Kidney Failure)
2) Verstappen - Red Bull (Kidney Failure)
3) Perez - Red Bull (Kidney Failure)
Well yes, technically true. However, everyone on the grid has the same fuel pump, so the Poop Chute seems to have an issue with the fuel pump.Technically no as it was the fuel pump not the Poop Shute so:
DNF:
1) Gasly - Alpha Tauri (Kidney Failure)
2) Verstappen - Red Bull (Kidney Failure)
3) Perez - Red Bull (Kidney Failure)
No fuel no power? Horner said "fuel system" though amongst a list of other potential causes, not fuel pump (from what I read anyway). Is his middle name Pinocchio?
Can anyone think of a way a fuel pump issue would cause an engine to seize and completely lock up?

Yea, but it should roll and stall, not lockup. I'm curious what actually happened, it looked like it locked up.No fuel no power?
Have you seen how quickly an engine seizes if the fuel pump bolts come loose, then the whole damn pump gets sucked up through the inlet valve! The pump then gets stuck between the upcoming piston and the head. Instantaneous stop!!!Is his middle name Pinocchio?

Is that what happened?Have you seen how quickly an engine seizes if the fuel pump bolts come loose, then the whole damn pump gets sucked up through the inlet valve! The pump then gets stuck between the upcoming piston and the head. Instantaneous stop!!!
YepIs that what happened?
.
Thanks for the interview.Yep.
The Alpha T that first went out, too much petrol was sucked in before the pump went in, therefore the fire.
The Ver car, the pump got stuck in the valve - resulting in a serious loss of power.
The Per car the pump got sucked right in, therefore the engine seized and the drive wheels locked.
A lemon tree, my dear Watson...
I'm gonna go sleep now![]()
