Okay so it's a Honda Poop Chute. Excellent.
No it is officially a RBPT Poop Shute.
It is actually a Honda but the Media have been told to call it RBPT.
Sort of like the Clock work motor that they badged as Tag Heuer to protect Renault.

Can anyone think of a way a fuel pump issue would cause an engine to seize and completely lock up?
Technically no as it was the fuel pump not the Poop Shute so:
DNF:
1) Gasly - Alpha Tauri (Kidney Failure)
2) Verstappen - Red Bull (Kidney Failure)
3) Perez - Red Bull (Kidney Failure)

The fuel pump would be the heart, not the kidney.
Kidney would be more like the fuel filter.
Well yes, technically true. However, everyone on the grid has the same fuel pump, so the Poop Chute seems to have an issue with the fuel pump.
Kidney stones, as a compromise?

No fuel no power? Horner said "fuel system" though amongst a list of other potential causes, not fuel pump (from what I read anyway).

Probably this: if the fuel pump fails/seizes, then the engine will shutdown to prevent it from grenading itself. The hydraulics run off the engine, and the transmission probably didn't go into N, just stuck in whatever gear it was, with no drive - hence the lockup.
Yea, but it should roll and stall, not lockup. I'm curious what actually happened, it looked like it locked up.
Have you seen how quickly an engine seizes if the fuel pump bolts come loose, then the whole damn pump gets sucked up through the inlet valve! The pump then gets stuck between the upcoming piston and the head. Instantaneous stop!!!
Is that what happened?

.The Alpha T that first went out, too much petrol was sucked in before the pump went in, therefore the fire.
The Ver car, the pump got stuck in the valve - resulting in a serious loss of power.
The Per car the pump got sucked right in, therefore the engine seized and the drive wheels locked.
