TBH, I think the "Redbull Powertrains" thing is more a commercial structuring thing than anything else.
As you say its almost the entire Honda engineering team that was based in the UK, and there will still be input from Honda in Japan (at least for the next year from what I understand)...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Honda make a subtle return to F1 if the Redbull Powertrains engine and Redbull package is successful.

... In a letter sent on Tuesday Duesmann and Hoffmann told F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and outgoing FIA president Jean Todt they believe the draft regulations offer a fair compromise for newcomers and existing competitors, as well as meeting the objectives agreed for the new power units.

The FIA World Motor Sport Council subsequently confirmed the 2026 power units will retain the existing 1.6-litre V6 engines and increase the amount of electrical energy they can generate, while doing away with the expensive MGU-H. Power unit costs will also be capped for the first time.

The management board and supervisory board of Audi will now decide whether to formally approve its entry into the championship.

In an apparent swipe to rivals Mercedes, Duesmann and Hoffmann opened their the letter – seen by RaceFans – by congratulating Todt on what it regarded as a fair conclusion to this year’s Formula 1 championship. They referred specifically to the final lap, on which Max Verstappen passed Lewis Hamilton to clinch the title following a controversial restart, which Mercedes considered appealing against for four days before backing down.

Prost, Piquet, Senna, Mansell, Hill, J. Villeneuve, Hakkinen, Alonso, Raikkonen, Button, Vettel, Hamilton and Rosberg all raced against the Red Baron. Five of them being directly involved in championship battles with him.

He's not entirely wrong. The difference is that in his day, they were more blatant about it. That's why everyone went on about Barichello allowing Schumacher to pass - that was the point at which it became too much. These days they're more discrete about it although everybody knows the intention...

It also used to be illegal, it's no longer illegal.

Team orders were illegal after that Shmuck move, then became legal, then illegal, and been legal for some years...
 
Team orders should be legal, it's a team sport.

Banning them because ferrari did something stupid was throwing the baby out with the bath water. Give ferrari huge amounts of shyte sure, they deserved it, but banning all together was silly.

Never mind how hard it is to enforce... it's just the FIA wanting to play.
 
Are we still fighting about 2021? It's all good guys the Peaschmuck says he'll race in 2022 so no need to stress.

Sir Hamster, no fight here, I was merely pointing out the idiocy of the post that was referring to crying for a post that was simply an article being posted.

Some people just can't help themselves at times, it seems...
