"... Before last fall, the minimum weight of the 2022 cars was set at 790 kg , 38 kilograms more than the cars that just finished the season. However, there was already some initial discontent among the technical directors. "We are discussing with the FIA about the minimum weight of the 2022 cars. It is however interesting that all the teams have a clear opinion ." - said in September the technical director of Alfa Romeo, Jan Monchaux - “A couple of extra kilos would also help to save on costs. We are talking about a considerable increase considering all the additions that we will have such as tires, rims and discs, all bigger ”.Last October it thus increased to 792 kg . ...

On the sidelines of the last FIA World Council in December, it was decided to further increase the weight because the teams considered the previous increase in September insufficient. The Federation thus granted an additional 3 kg , setting the minimum weight of the single-seaters at 795 kg , 43 kg more than the previous ones.

To this we must also add the extra weight of the wheel covers , which will be around 500 grams . ..."

Looks like the concept car with a merc logo on, just marketing, they're not going to release images of the real car yet.

Even the "launch" car is a basic rendition, will only see the actual car at testing
