Because it's a package that brings aero benefits not just an aerodynamic shape. But they didn't debut the car with no-pods. If it's an issue, why not just change the body of the car?

It's not the cost of the parts but the cost to long term development in terms of wind tunnel, cfd runs etc which Merc is extremely restricted this year. They'll know their package performance with various designs and will move forward with what makes sense - evidently this is the "no pod" design. Aero is not just shape but also weight distribution etc. For all we know Merc's design takes into future consideration of the demand for removal of ERS to coincide with the demands from Audi/Porsche and their entry into F1.

I meant the MGU-H ERS. There's a bunch of articles regarding it - here's one:Where did you see this, link perhaps?
Thanks for the answer I already knew, but is it bringing obvious benefits...Because it's a package that brings aero benefits not just an aerodynamic shape.
Obviously there is benefit to be realised - they have an army of engineers who have 8 constructors titles behind them. My money would be on them to unlock it in due course. Thanks for the answer I already knew, but is it bringing obvious benefits...
And fortunately for them they never make mistakes.Obviously there is benefit to be realised - they have an army of engineers who have 8 constructors titles behind them. My money would be on them to unlock it in due course.
I guess time will tell. They certainly have some work to do.And fortunately for them they never make mistakes.

Did you miss Lewis' interview in Barcelona?I guess time will tell. They certainly have some work to do.
Nope. But in the context of the season and championship there's 19 races to go - are you clairvoyant?Did you miss Lewis' interview in Barcelona?
I'm just saying what he saidNope. But in the context of the season and championship there's 19 races to go - are you clairvoyant?
Time for a new kind of wind tunnel. I remember sawing a doc on the airbag, the software animation showed a small dent while airbag open, they though it was a software glitch, but the sofware animation were correct. Interresting how the cars got all those funny fins and whatever and the current windtunnel and the problem of this jumping like a horse.I guess time will tell. They certainly have some work to do.

Oh, why didn't you just say so.they need a new type of windtunnel to detect and eliminate porpoising.
