If you watch above video, you will hear the BS reason Ferarri gave for not pitting Charlie, and then how the video creator explain how BS the reason is but perhaps it highlights just how bad Ferarri is under real pressure, when they need to make a split decision in the heat of the moment. This is where RBR really shine.
It's as if the Ferrari team were asleep.

Ferrari needs a Hannah Schmitz...

What I took from the radio when let Clerc first arrived behind Sainz was that he was told not to fight for position, not just 'we won't swap yet'... But don't fight.

Just thinking, we know the obvious cases where it was a bad move not to pit under the SC towards the end of the race (Abu Dhabi, Silverstone etc) but are there any relatively recent examples where not pitting proved to be the better choice?

I'd say most of the time if you are on old tyres, you have to pit. Fresh tyres that driver know they can eat through will almost always leave you been overtaken very quickly.

Exceptions to this would be tracks like Monaco - where track position will always be the best option.

I think we'd all say that. I'm asking if there are actual examples of where not pitting was the right call.

I can't think of specific races, but I would imagine there are examples with Hamilton making his tyres last 467 laps and getting a good result.

The Turkish GP in 2020 Lewis Hamilton Won his 7th F1 World Title by staying out on Inters and turning them into Slicks.

I remember the interslicks! That was pretty awesome actually.

Predictions for quali?

Only thing certain is Max up top. The rest is up for grabs. Merc don't look far off at all.

Yeah, was reading up on that now. Seems like it was an epic stint. Totally irrelevant to the question at hand though.
I only read the "not pitting" bit, you didn't specify safety car, but having now read the full thread I see your intended context.
