I am still amazed that people regard a minor overspend on budget, probably because of a technicality with a whole new system, as a bigger offence that spying and stealing, for which the teams did not lose driver points.
How low can these Hamilton fans go?

With the speculation regarding Newey not being an “employee” and still being included in the top 3 employees it might no longer be a minor overspend. I’m amazed you can’t see the difference between criminal conduct by a few individuals and a team’s transgression - it’s not like some guy randomly went and spent all the budget ;)

Well you can spin it as you like. The evidence is on this thread for the last 10 months of butthurt sad individuals crying permanently.
I don't see any other than Hamilton fans that want Max stripped of the 2021 crown.
Going over budget would have way more advantage for the 2022 championship. Why does these individuals not then call for Max to be stripped of the 2022 title rather?
And most importantly, I did not make it about Hamilton, but about his fans

Yea but he didn't spend enough to be allowed to not be disqualified. You have to spend 107.5% in order to qualify.

Such loaded language. It's quite simple really - 2021 is where the transgression occurred thus from a sporting perspective, as with all sports, the sanction should apply to that period. It's arguable too that sanctions for 2022 could also be considered but it makes no sense to levy sanctions only in the year where there was no transgression.

I like the idea of them having double the amount they were over being deducted from next years cap. That will send a strong message. And of course for Max to hand over last years trophy to its rightful owner, Hamilton.

If 1 guy cheats to earn money in a cricket match and that team wins (while he earns cash) then the entire team should also be fined and possibly banned.

Easy to apply to other sports now if you use that analogy.
 
Well the FIA should do what they do in football, give RBR a 100 point penalty to start the season off -100 or something like that.. no point in taking the championships away from them, even though they cheated and don't deserve it

I don't think this has ever happened in cricket. Not the cheating (there are multiple examples) but the whole team being fined or banned?

Unfortunately the current cost cap audit is a bit of a farce. The FIA didn't investigate any of the numbers given, they just checked that they agreed with the way they were recorded. Anyone could've given in doctored accounts and we wouldn't be any the wiser.

Nope when the FIA released their findings and penalties for Spygate, we trusted everything and know that nothing was swept under the carpet.
For BigMaxgate we don't trust the FIA, they will sweep everything under the carpet.
