How long do you picture Hirakawa taking to get a seat at 29 years old?Your crystal ball looks a bit foggy to me.
I don't follow why you think he would get a seat at all, to begin with? How long do you picture Hirakawa taking to get a seat at 29 years old?
The development angle is the only thing that makes sense. McLaren already have a huge pool of reserves to call on, given they have the Indycar tie-up and can make use of Mercedes' reserves as well. Toyota have not shown any interest in a return to F1 any time soon. So the most likely scenario is that Toyota want to find a way to give some of their drivers F1 experience. They do have ties with McLaren via the use of their wind tunnel in Cologne (McLaren have of course now completed their own wind tunnel at the MTC).How long do you picture Hirakawa taking to get a seat at 29 years old?
But perhaps he's just there to be developed. Not sure.
knowing Max, he'll win by lapping everybody. The anticlimax of the season will be Max being crowned WC at the Qatar sprint. How dull. I wonder if he's planning a DNF or sub-par performance to at least take the WC at the main race or the US.

And will no doubt get 5 minutes of broadcast time including the start. Nobody cares about Max when he drives Newey's car sadly.knowing Max, he'll win by lapping everybody.

It's all business with Max, and rightly so.Unlikely. He's never struck me as one for showmanship and theatre. He will get it wrapped up in whatever way happens soonest and if that is at a race as low key as a Qatar sprint, then so be it.
Every media outlet has been full of praise for Max; I haven't heard anyone (reputable) claiming it's the car doing all the winning. Checo's form in the same car should be ample evidence of that. So not quite sure what you mean by this...And will no doubt get 5 minutes of broadcast time including the start. Nobody cares about Max when he drives Newey's car sadly.
Wow, so you think Max has just learned to drive faster than everyone else in equal machinery? OK thenEvery media outlet has been full of praise for Max; I haven't heard anyone (reputable) claiming it's the car doing all the winning.
The same media outlets have multiple times reported that Redbull won't be building their car to suit Checo, but that aside, what has Checo done that you rate him?Checo's form in the same car should be ample evidence of that. So not quite sure what you mean by this...
Yes I was referring to the Race. I thought that was clear. If you're referring to TV coverage, well quite frankly all the action is behind Max.
Why the need to point out the obvious? One guy winning the race by 30 seconds without being challenged at any point doesn't make for good TV. That's not Max's or Red Bull's fault; the other teams need to do a better job.
I thought I made that clear. For the sake of the spectacle though, the director needs to show some on-track action, and Max driving around by himself doesn't really qualify.
I'm confused. You sounded disappointed that Max wouldn't get much screen time. Did I read that wrong? My entire response was based on that assumption.Wow, so you think Max has just learned to drive faster than everyone else in equal machinery? OK then

These fora are almost as bad as Twitter. People only read what they want. Misunderstanding is rife. I agree with you. Screen time for Max is minimal due to the fact that he is mostly driving on his own. There is the odd bit of pit time, or lapping, but mostly it's pretty boring just watching him do tours.I'm confused. You sounded disappointed that Max wouldn't get much screen time. Not doubt you are confused. Why would anyone not be disappointed with an anticlimactic world championship?I'm confused. You sounded disappointed that Max wouldn't get much screen time. Did I read that wrong? My entire response was based on that assumption.
My reading is quite OK I think.I'm pretty sure Ikpat said much the same as what you said. He may just have to read slower, and for meaning.![]()
Yeah, I'm not sure we're communicating on the same wavelength here. As for the championship being anticlimactic, it's been that since about 3 races into the season. Max winning is inevitable at this point, so does it make it more exiting if he wins it on Sunday given the degree of domination we've already seen this year? Not doubt you are confused. It counts for more if he wins during the main race and at a track with more tradition behind it for sure. Of course IMO.Yeah, I'm not sure we're communicating on the same wavelength here. He is probably in Negotiations with FOM and NETFLIX to hold off winning until "Las Vegas".It counts for more if he wins during the main race and at a track with more tradition behind it for sure. Of course IMO.
