Yeah, I feel sorry for Clucky. I get the feeling that in the right car he'd drive circles around both Max and Lewis.
To be fair, both Alonso and now Norris, have driven circles around Hamilton this year and they have inferior cars compared to the customer-engined Merc.

Did you just say the McLaren is inferior to the Merc?

Would Sainz be a option as a number 2 driver at Red Bull? I don't think he has the speed to be number 1, but surely can do a proper job as wingman?
Sainz and his family burned their bridges with Red Bull Racing when Sainz was a Red Bull junior at Toro Rosso. I still think his dad is sponsored by Red Bull. But Red Bull Racing won't go down that route again with Sainz and his family.

Then the next tier - Checo, Sainz, Albon, Ocon, Gasly, Ricciardo - all talented drivers and great on their day, but missing that x-factor to win a championship irrespective of which car they're in. And they all have some kind of mental block or weakness in some aspect over the course of the weekend. To win the championship you need to be good as everything.

Then there's the rest...

But you need to keep in mind that the no 2 seat at RB is for a wingman. Checo seems to be best at it. I don't think Ricciardo is going to accept that - probably didn't the first time around. Take the qualifying at Silverstone for example, Checo needed to get out of Q1 and there was a red flag. He was left sitting at the end of the pit lane for about 8 minutes before going out (as KMag's car was being cleared) - what condition was his tyres in? How would Ricciardo have reacted if he was in this situation?

Uh oh. Are we in for another procession behind the safety car again this weekend?

Things are going to be tense in light of what happened a few weeks ago if the weather is foul.

And there is a Sprint as well. Hopefully there is something to enjoy this weekend.

Ricciardo is pretty much in the twilight of his career, I think he'd be mature enough to accept Max as a team lead if it meant the shot at podiums and the odd win. It would be the last chance he would get at a top ride. Kimi done it at Ferrari where he played second fiddle to Vettel.

Yeah, he has admitted in interviews that he had to swallow his pride and take a step back after these last 2 years. I am almost 100% certain he would come in and play that dedicated wingman role. He knows he won't ever be a world champ, but he can still win races.

If RB were to bring in Lando, Charles, Russel. Then the sparks would fly ala Rossberg/Ham
