Fully agree but RB does not need 2 top drivers. they want a top driver and a midfield driver that can perform consistently in the best car and secure number 2 in the championship without actually challenging max.

is Max's first ever team mate in F1 that driver? nope that is why he is no longer at red bull and now at Ferrari.
is it Checko? nope he is going to loose out to Hamilton for P2 this year 100% due to his own mistakes with Lewis coming under pressure from the others for that spot as well. ight have a 3 or 4 driver race for second even.

I believe Sainz would've been the perfect Red Bull #2. The reason he left though was because Red Bull were locked into Max and Danny Ric at the time and Sainz was heading for his 4th season at Toro Rosso, a junior team, and he wanted to progress his career, so Renault came with an offer of leading a factory team and he took it. Danny Ric would do the same when he later left Red Bull for Renault, 100% a move to get out from under Red Bull's darling.

Checo showed himself to be a solid #2 last year but I feel this season he found himself in the same situation Bottas did with Hamilton. Backed himself to challenge the team leader, showed early success but then the reality set in of what he was up against and now he is crumbling.

as for generational talent.
I disagree. there was a time when there were 4 generational talent's racing at the same time. Prost, Mansell, Senna and Lauda and drivers were changing teams every year. team mates up against each other and that never happening. team mates outside of those mentioned that might have happened to though.

There is no doubt that Max is a level above anybody else at the moment and will be for some time.

Those other drivers you mentioned, they did not like being teammates to one another and all but Lauda would block their teams from hiring threats to them at one time or another. Or they just walked away when their teams signed an equal. It's not new where teams have a driver hierarchy and how drivers themselves influence this.

some drivers do it on track. some drivers do it off track. look at Lewis vs Vettel in baku 2019 as an example of a driver winning the psychological battle on track.
Lewis vs Alonso in 2007.
the look at Max compared to Kviat for an off track example.
I dont think Shumi ever needed to do it off track becasue he always did it on track to everyone other than Villeneuve and Alonso.
but at the same time did they ever best the team mates if there was a clause in the contract as to who is the number 1 and who is the number 2 driver? this goes for shumi and I believe Hamilton with Bottas as well, but that is not as much of a fact as the shumi V Barrichello ,Irvine and Massa.

Barrichello has spoken of how Michael was not ''supportive'' of him. He also mentioned that he was ''forced'' out at the end of 2005 but would only ever share that in his book one day. Barrichello was a bit of a softy though, so it just sounds like him being unable to accept that Maranello wasn't the same small family environment he had experienced at Jordan and Stewart.

The #1-#2 dynamic at Ferrari during the Schumi years was no secret. At the same time, Michael rarely, if ever, needed that help because he was just better.

I forgot that Martin Brundle was Schumi's team mate and Jos Verstappen was as well as Nelson Piquet

Fun fact; Nelson Piquet tried to stop Benetton from signing Michael, preferring the pedestrian Roberto Moreno over the young upstart that had just wowed the paddock. Piquet was another of the multiple champions who would throw a fit over a strong teammate, famously leaving Williams because they did not reign Mansell in.

How are the sprint weekends decided I wonder. Qatar only has 1 DRS zone and the sprint race might just end up in another procession given the track layout.

LOL butthurt Merc fanboys, still cant handle the truth. Funny that they the ones on this thread always coming with swearing and insults against drivers, team bosses and members.

Nah, I'm all for open discussion and honest debate and some ribbing.

You don't seem interested in any of that though, you just shout from the corner like a child in time out. It's extremely tedious and contributes nothing, so you get the block, much like any other worthless pest.

Rival F1 team bidder claims Andretti given FIA green light

Rodin Cars, a New Zealand-based manufacturer which earlier this year became the majority owner of British racing team Carlin, has claimed Andretti’s application to join the F1 grid is the only one to have been given the green light by the FIA, as they confirmed their own attempt to be an 11th team had been rejected.

The FIA has not commented on the state of applications process or the timeframe for when a decision and announcement will be made.

There is no guarantee that any bid will ultimately be successful, with F1 also required to grant its own approval.

You 3 stooges do realize that everyone can see you can't win an argument and can only come up with 5 year old insults? But hey birds of a feather flock together, Hamilton fans?
This year's and last year's threads are there for everyone to see who use all the foul language, insults against drivers and their families.
All coming from one toxic group.

Go see a doctor.

I can't tell if you're a 12 year old or geriatric with a short memory but you whine incessantly. In case you forgot:

latest info on 2026 regulations:
"Width of the cars to be reduced to 190 cm (now 200 cm). Wheelbase shortened at least to 340 cm (now 360 cm). Smaller cars & wings will result in 40% less downforce. More details: https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/formel-1/f1-technik-reglement-2026-abmessungen-abtrieb-motor/"
"The engineers are planning a small concept change that was already discussed for the 2022 cars, but was then put on the back burner. Symonds doesn't want to reveal what it is yet. Just this much: It should be much easier to follow another car in the future."

The only way it would be easy to follow this years redbull is if it had a tow bar.............. ;) :)
