Max Verstappen cheated, show me the evidence that he didn't ;)
Oh no, you hate Verstappen because he is winning. Whats new

Now I have 10 months to convince myself that I am a Ferrari Fan despite decades of them being the enemy.
At least the Dutch twat is easier to hate ..................
But Lewis had better get his 8th Championship next year because I am walking away from this crap after that, it is no longer F1, it is reality TV with rigged racing and decreasing focus on engineering prowess.

Unbelievable... how on Earth did Claire Williams allow the rot to set in so deep!?

Formula 1 chief appalled to find team using Excel to manage 20,000 car parts: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2024/0...d-team-using-excel-to-manage-20000-car-parts/

"... The Williams car build workbook, with roughly 20,000 individual parts, was "a joke," Vowles recently told The Race. "Impossible to navigate and impossible to update." This colossal Excel file lacked information on how much each of those parts cost and the time it took to produce them, along with whether the parts were already on order. Prioritizing one car section over another, from manufacture through inspection, was impossible, Vowles suggested.

"When you start tracking now hundreds of thousands of components through your organization moving around, an Excel spreadsheet is useless," Vowles told The Race. Because of the multiple states each part could be in—ordered, backordered, inspected, returned—humans are often left to work out the details. "And once you start putting that level of complexity in, which is where modern Formula 1 is, the Excel spreadsheet falls over, and humans fall over. And that's exactly where we are."

The consequences of this row/column chaos, and the resulting hiccups, were many. Williams missed early pre-season testing in 2019. Workers sometimes had to physically search the team's factory for parts. The wrong parts got priority, other parts came late, and some piled up. And yet transitioning to a modern tracking system was "viciously expensive," Fry told The Race, and making up for the painful process required "humans pushing themselves to the absolute limits and breaking." ..."
This is bad, but I also enjoyed reading about Vowles hating on an Excel file. I can just imagine his disgust at the lack of order and efficiency.

C'mon guys, surely I added enough emojis to highlight that it was "Sarcasm".
No I don't like Max but I do admire his driving skill, I don't like Stroll but I admire his father's blind enthusiasm.
It is a sport, all sport has Love Hate factions but the one thing we all have in common is love of F1 racing.
All this bad press and related social media accusations are doing our sport no good.

This is probably one of my favorite tracks, looks like a lot of drivers were losing their rear end in FP1, looking forward to see what happens in FP2 shortly.

He had that passion/spark for racing that is sadly missing in many of the modern F1 drivers.

Ah, the good old days ...

After his (Albon) P1 shunt and Williams not having a spare chassis the team have decided to bench Logan Sargent and let Albon drive that car for the remainder of the weekend

Meanwhile Andretti doesn't get a seat.

Tough on Sargeant but in the interest of the team, probably the right call.

That's a brutal call. Correct, but brutal.
So early in the season it really is but they're fighting for single digit points for survival so can't blame them especially since Sargeant almost lost it in FP2. Alot of pressure on Albon now though - if he loses that car it'll not be good - I'm sure it'll weigh on him in some way that he needs to bring that car home.

Does Albon get penalised in any way with this swap (grid drop, pit lane start, etc)?

Williams damned if they do and damned if they don't. F1 isn't a popularity contest. You do what you believe is in the best interest of your team.
Yup but it’s the pinnacle of motorsport and it’s a bit of an embarrassment for everyone and most of all Sargent. This is the kinda of stuff reserved for championship wins not scraps so as much as even I can rationalize it it’s just not good for the sport generally.
