Send it to Crofty at Sky Sports he may learn something :sneaky:
It's only a matter for time before AI replaces him and the rest too.

Harry Benjamin is preparing for his Sky F1 lead commentator debut in the place of David Croft at Imola for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

With the F1 2024 calendar set to consist of a record-breaking 24 rounds, it was confirmed ahead of the season that Croft would receive some respite from that schedule by sitting out three race weekends, those being the Emilia Romagna, Austrian and Azerbaijan GPs.

Harry Benjamin ‘excited’ over Sky F1 opportunity

The first of those race weekends off has arrived and keeping Benjamin company in the commentary box at Imola will be former Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok, who has been part of Sky’s Formula 1 coverage since 2019.

Put to him during the Sky F1 podcast that he must be excited for the upcoming race weekend, Benjamin replied: “Yeah, very excited. I mean, big shoes to fill, but I’m looking forward to it.

“What a track to do it at as well, Imola, and stood alongside Karun too. I’m honoured.”

I feel for Albon man, but it's also his own dumb decisions. Sign for literally anyone else dude.

As much as I'm a Williams supporter, Albon is wasting his talents there. He should have tried to get LH's seat...

I think the issue he would have had in trying to do that is that it would have been very much a short term deal as all the talk has been about Antonelli and Verstappen (fanciful as that prospect is). So he weighs up a 1 year deal with Mercedes vs gambling on a long term stay at Williams and hoping that they climb back up the order. My view on it is that he's onto a good thing at Williams. Also, he's still relatively young so maybe there's time for him down the line to potentially get a better drive at some stage.

I don't know man, seems like he's wasting his best years at a time that's been "getting better' for the last 5 years. He should be racing for podiums, not points.

It's only until end of 2026 if the article I read is accurate. It's not a bad move though - he has a chance to evaluate other teams in 2026 for 2027 and beyond.

i think Albon is taking the gamble that the Merc engine will be good in 2026, but the changes Vowels is bringing into the team will pay off in the new Regulations.
the same as LH is taking the gamble that Ferrari is going to nail the regulations and the Engine for 2026.
and Hulk is taking the gamble on Audi.

I can respect the choice.
he knows he wont get back in a Red Bull and he knows that while Max is at Red Bull there is only one person who is going to be world champion. 2026 can change that.

Flooding in Italy. Again!

Really hope they don't cancel the race weekend for a second year in a row :-/

Monoco wont go, it has too much history. At least the quali's are fun to watch.

I still think there are one or two too many middle eastern races. Especially Bahrain and Qatar, both being stone throw away from each other. But the money talks.

Spa and Zanvoort are quite close. We have previously had Spa and Nurbergring in the same year and their only about 100km apart.

F1 ditching Monaco would be like NASCAR ditching Daytona, WEC ditching Le Mans and IndyCar ditching Indianapolis.

Not happening. Especially when you consider the fact that just about every new street circuit that is being added to the calendar has tried to replicate Monaco, right down to Miami and its fake waterfront. If they are tolerating copycats, why would they ditch the OG?

There have been years that Le Man has not part of WEC or WSC despite those series running at the time.

US open wheel racing was divided into 2 different organisations at one stage, not sure how you count that for IndyCar and the Indy 500.
