We get you, you think Hamilton is still the best British driver. Why don't you just say it openly, instead of this roundabout way of avoiding having to say it?
Well isn't he?
Osama bin Russel is just another British hype and Norris is a one race safety car wonder.

I'd say Norris is driving best currently. Hamilton doesn't seem on top form right now and Russell is doing well. It's tough to say with the donkey they're in.

LH is still the best Brittish Driver the same way that Alonso is the best Spanish Driver and Prost is the best French Driver . Norris is in a better car doing very well.
but considering how bad the merc has been in the current regulations how LH, GR and LN compare to each other is impossible to measure.

but based on what we have seen in terms of race craft and performance in only the past 3 yeasrs I cant see putting LN above LH. LH ended third in 2023 in a car that was clearly the 4th best behind RB, Ferrari and Mclaren. that was due to consistancy simple as that. he can get the best even from a bad car.

now if all 3 were in the same car with their current support crew around them that would be a way to see who is truely the best, and you would have to do it over a full season not just a few races. I have a feeling both LN and GR will fold under the pressure of a title fight with a team mate. if it was 3 equal cars where they were not team mates things would be different, then LN could stand a chance, but I dont see GR being able to win a championship sadly

So no longer in the running for one of the best drivers on the grid, only one of the best British - specifically - drivers?

Says a random Indian guy?

Thats the Brits for you. One lucky safety car race win and now Lando is one of the best drivers.

What’s “the Brits” got to do with it, it’s an Indian website.

Some updates from Imola

Albert Fabrega | More of Aston Martin's new front wing. Extended plates, with different connections with the flaps. The supports between the nose and main plane have also changed, now it is a single central support:

Williams has revealed its too-heavy 2024 Formula 1 car has been giving away 0.45 seconds per lap, as it unleashes a weight-saving programme from this weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/...-car-costing-it-045-seconds-per-lap/10611515/

"The Grove-based outfit is pushing to get itself much closer to F1’s 798kg minimum weight limit, with a host of new lighter parts to be fitted to Alex Albon’s car at Imola.

In a surprise confession before track running begins, team principal James Vowles has said that the squad ironically left itself on the back foot last winter by its chase to reduce chassis weight. An aggressive development programme, which succeeded in pulling 14kg off its chassis, meant its production and development plans ran late – and contributed to the team having to be conservative with other aspects of the car. The end result, says Vowles, is that the FW46 in the configuration it has run up until now has been heavier than last year – which he reckons has been costing it nearly half a second per lap.

“The transformation we did between 2023 to ‘24 was that we took 14 kilos out of the chassis,” he said. “For anyone in the business that knows those numbers, you'll realise that's an extraordinary feat and the team did very well in doing that. However, the car this year that we've been running is about four and a half tenths a lap slower, every lap, by the fact it is still overweight.” ..."
