He was a WDC champ already when Piastri was like 4 years old.

He'd still be better than Stroll.
Both true. We know Stroll is a write off.

But the point is even a 45 year old Alonso wouldn't be able to get the best out of a Newey car. None of us can escape age and claim that we're just as sharp now as we were 20 years ago. They would need a strong relatively young first driver to get the best out of that car. Alonso at best can provide feedback into the development of the car. Maybe that's the plan until he retires...

Fangio.

Personally I can't see him stay in F1 past 2026. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he announced his retirement at the end of this year.
While Lance still has a drive I'd hope Alonso would too and at least get 1 season in with the new regs and probably a Newey car.

.

Aware & not quite the same. That's not picking a #1 driver by any means - it simply corrected whatever happened with the pit.

To add, DC and Hakkinen had a pre-race agreement that whoever led the race into the first corner would be the one to win the race if they were in position to do so. Hakkinen had the lead, so coupled with the botched pit call for Hakkinen, it was the two drivers fulfilling the agreement.

This would be the same point DC raised a year later at the 1999 Belgian Grand Prix where he won ahead of Hakkinen while Hakkinen was in a title fight with Irvine. He had the lead into La Source and felt he did not have to relinquish the lead, much to Hakkinen's anger.

They have a history of grooming fashion models, maybe that's why they signed Antonelli...
No, I think it might be this...

That said, I do have a 16 year old female cousin that's absolutely obsessed with this chap, so I imagine there's plenty of fan girls who are super excited for this fella, so you may have a point there, Mike

Doesn’t she look like George Russell? She’s from a Vicks advertisement that plays on YouTube.
