Was thinking about this yesterday. The ground effect downforce era is to blame. What the tv media never mention is that it's not the wet tyres that aqua plane, it's the floor.

Case in point, the drivers are already considering intermediates!

So raise the height or stop trying to race in the wet and let it be the same as any other weather-dependent sport.
 
Hamilton + Car haven’t been happy at all this weekend

Nice to see Alex and Lawson go through. Ocon is also having a good run in the rain
