Does anyone actually think that's going to happen?

British Formula One star Lewis Hamilton will leave Mercedes and join Ferrari for the 2025 season, Sky Sports News understands.

It is understood the Mercedes factory are to be briefed by chief executive of the team, Toto Wolff, ahead of a formal announcement later today.

Hamilton, who has won a joint-record seven world championships, has been with Mercedes since he signed with them in 2013.

Before that, the 39-year-old raced for McLaren.

This breaking news story is being updated and more details will be published shortly.
My head just exploded. I've always been an anything but Ferrari fan and a Lewis Hamilton fan first.
What to do... what to do... hahaha.

I'm personally a Mclaren fan and a fan of anyone who's ever driven for Mclaren so I'll be happy if Lewis does well at Ferrari. If he can win a drivers championship at Ferrari he'll get his 8th drivers (or 9th?) and will have done so at 3 different constructors. Would be a great way to sunset a career.

Who will go with him I wonder?
Hamilton will be aware that strategy has been their major shortcoming, so will he persuade his strategy team to jump ship, and will he take an Engineer or some favoreat Mechanics with him?

This seems extremely dumb from Ferrari. They'll break the bank for a driver in decline and someone that isn't known for being a good teammate. Hamilton doesn't seem like a good choice as a backup for 'Project Charles'.

Also, poor Carlos.

I always preferred Carlos over Charles. I think he is more stable and less of a hot head. Charles is great on one lap but terrible the next. yes his terrible is still better than 15 others on the grid. but his terrible is on par with Carlos.

if this is true then we will see if Charles is actually good. he has beaten Seb, but only after seb was broken by Lewis (azebajan 2017) and SEb never Really showed the Ability he showed before that point after it again.

Has the same thing happened with Lewis? I dont think so but people will claim I am bais. because I dont slander him for his hair or outfit, so I must be team LH right?
The real Question will be, if the Merc is good enough to be a title contender this year, and so is the Ferrarri, and we have a 4 team fight all season long will Lewis still want to make the move if they are competing at the front?

Everything about this feels like an attempt to either get media attention buzzing around F1 before the pre season testing.
it could also be an attempt to make Merc do PR damage controll while they are in the final stages of finishing off the car.
it could also be that Lewis does not think that the 2024 car will be challenging so he is looking elsewhere and its all true.

the timing of the news feels just a little bit suspect for me. not saying I dont believe it. what I am saying is there is a real chance this is not what it seems

Sort of the same here, I'm not too sure I can support him at that team. Will see.

Nope. A **** ton of his supporters, especially the new ones don't give a damn. They'll be in red in 2025

He could've gone to McLaren, even Haas, and I'd still support him, but Ferrari, eish. I can really not see myself supporting them. They screwed Clucky over so many times now that it borders on unbelievable, they'll do the same to him.

At least we're consistent!
