Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan has slated the teams for failing to put a single rookie on this year’s grid, a first in F1 history.

Last season Formula 1 welcomed four rookies onto the grid in Oscar Piastri, Logan Sargeant, Nyck de Vries, and the AlphaTauri driver’s subsequent replacement Liam Lawson.

This year there’s not one, and Jordan is fuming over it.

‘And I really blame the 10 teams…’

The man who gave Michael Schumacher his big break back in 1991, kicking off the seven-time World Champion’s F1 career at the Belgian Grand Prix, Jordan also later gave his brother Ralf his break in 1997.

That’s just two newcomers that the Jordan team owner opened the door for, at a price of course.

This year, though, for the first time in F1’s history there won’t be a single newbie on the grid.

“I am so upset,” Jordan told the Formula For Success podcast. “Honestly, I can’t tell you how upsetting this is. And I really blame the 10 teams.

“It’s scandalous. The vision [and] the foresight is negative.

“I think all of the big teams [and] all of the smaller teams, shame on those teams for not making it their business to give young blood, young talent, and us in the media something that we can grasp on and say who was the best rookie of the year.

“We can’t say that this year. It’s just wrong.”
Can't say that Eddie doesn't have a point. F1 would be a better place if there was some form of relegation for teams and drivers if not per year perhaps on a 3 yr cycle.

While he retains support among Red Bull’s shareholders, who recognise his central role in the seven world drivers’ championships the team have claimed in 19 seasons in the sport, the reluctance of Max Verstappen, the three-times world champion who is the team’s leading driver, to publicly support his boss at Thursday’s car launch is now being viewed by some as increasingly significant.

From a purely optics pov it’s definitely not great and perhaps reinforces the reported rift / power struggle between Jos and Christian. They need to close this out soon as it’s just looking messy from the outside in an image heavy sport

Jos has zero interest in RB beyond his son.

Nelson Piquet Sr.

With him, Marko and Jos, the racists can finally reign supreme...
Makes no sense to bring in an outsider. More sense to double up a role like haas did - not that Red Bull has no money but the cost cap is a consideration.

Bernie Ecclestone has denied reports in the media that in the midst of the ongoing investigation in to his conduct he advised Christian Horner to step down as team boss at Red Bull.

An already intriguing, but utterly confusing, case has taken a further twist as the former F1 supremo took to social media.

"To clarify reports by newspapers that I had urged or suggested that Christian Horner should step down from his position in Red Bull is entirely UNTRUE," Ecclestone posted on Instagram, his post being subsequently shared by his wife, Fabiana, the FIA Vice-President for Sport.

"Apart from keeping his head down, my advice to Christian is to do nothing and wait and see what happens," he is quoted as saying by AFP. "I am in close contact with him.

"The problem is that when you succeed, you make a lot of enemies. What I hope is that someone will talk to him and the woman individually and everything will be worked out."

Dankie Elon!
Not really Elon's doing as its most likely your IP being allocated to a different country. Be careful with this as I had issues the one year because my sub was linked to the US and when I was back in ZA I had endless errors. Every year around this time there are reddit threads that list which countries have the cheapest deals and people just use a vpn to signup a new account. India is $29 for the year if I'm not mistaken.

Eddie is on the money.

Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine and Ralf Schumacher were all given their first F1 opportunities by him. You can add Giancarlo Fisichella to that list as well, as while Fisi debuted with Minardi in 1996, he had to vacate the seat halfway through the season because he didn't have money, and Eddie gave him a chance for 1997 alongside Ralf.

Not sure what VPNs they’re using but I tried a few for India and it just told me it doesn’t work in my region.

Of course it’s my IP being Zambian.
