Eddie is on the money.

Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine and Ralf Schumacher were all given their first F1 opportunities by him. You can add Giancarlo Fisichella to that list as well, as while Fisi debuted with Minardi in 1996, he had to vacate the seat halfway through the season because he didn't have money, and Eddie gave him a chance for 1997 alongside Ralf.
He’s not, though, f1 teams should not be Nannied into making driver calls. They should be free to do as they please with their driver lineup.

Eddie's not arguing they should be nannied. If drivers are simply safe choices then it stagnates the field. The best drivers in history arrived and made an immediate impact but yet year after year teams release nanny statements about drivers and how they're improving and next year will be better. I think the point being made is that F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsport but it doesn't seem to have the pinnacle of talent currently.

I disagree. I’d argue almost everyone on the grid could challenge for the WC right now in the right car. And then factor in drivers contracts and it’s not always possible to take a gamble on a newbie.

Good for you. That's not really the point I was making. It's a calculated risk but still a risk nonetheless.
Of course it’s a risk. But it’s a risk reward ratio that heavily leans towards using Starlink in my case.

Disagree. There's definitely room for a couple rookies. Contracts shouldn't be seen as an obstacle.

[ErikvHaren] Team boss Christian Horner of Red Bull Racing is accused of sexual misconduct, according to reports and documents. On February 3, lawyers for Brit (50) offered the reporter to settle for £650,000.
Definitely giving the Mercedes / Hamilton boys a hard on.

I am not a Red Bull supporter, but Christian Horner really provided character to the sport. Would be a shame to lose him.

I don't think anyone would want Horny Spice out under any normal circumstance. RB, I think, are running out of lives as far as RB and RB-adjacent controversy is concerned. I think it's paramount that RB, F1 and the FIA are extremely transparent but seemingly to date have not. Most have been downplaying accusations without a concrete statement as to the substance of the accusations to date. That's a mistake imho.

Nah not a chance.
Norris, Piastri, Hamilton, Russel, Verstappen, LeClerck, Sains, Ocon, GAsly, Albon and Alonso are the only ones with a real shot.

Bottas, Stroll, Sargeant, Magnussen , Zhou and Hülkenberg , Perez, Riccardo and Tsunodo have no chance.
and any one that dont have a shot might as well be a rookie to get talent moved on.

I dont understand everyone's idea that Riccardo could be a Contender to me he has never shown any real potential to battle for a championship. and just like Bottas and Perez he will simply crumble under the pressure if he was in a car where he could compete.

and I am being very generous to Ocon, Gastly and leClerc. they have the pace and ability same as riccardo and perez but I dont know if they have the stones.

to be fair we only know for a fact that Hamilton, Alonso and Verstappen have the stones to fight for a championship in F1. the pressures are different to what they are in F2. but based on what we saw in F2 we can say Russel, Albon, Leclerc and Sains have what it takes but are not yet proven to have it.

LOL Sainz literally cried on the radio that Perez is intimidating him. How many races did he take to get his first win? And that win was just by screwing his teammate. He is useless, thats why Ferrari is letting him go. He will be lucky to get another seat. maybe just from a small back marker team.

Danny Ric smoked Vettel in 2014 at Redbull and took third in the WC with only the mercs ahead. He also took third to Merc in 2016. The right car and setup makes a huge difference to every driver out there.

i understand that. but he does not have what it takes to really fight. if he did he would have been able to stay at RB with max instead of pulling an alonso and destroying his career with car changes. he is solid as a driver, just like Perez and Bottas. and in a good car they can be a fantastic team made for the right driver and can even assist that driver in winning a tight world championship. but he has not shown the ability to adapt his driving style to the 2022 spec cars at all. and he will be beaten by Tsunoda this year. and it will be as close as Albon and Sargeant will be. not as massive as as Stroll Alonso but still a desicive win for Tsunodo. just for the record I dont rate Tsunodo either. but Danny Ric is all Nostalgia based fandom. he is the drive to survive sweetheart and the "best of the rest" from a season that was dominated by Merc.

its like saying Sains is the third best Driver on the grid simply because in 2023 he was the only non red bull driver to win a race.
Danny beat seb when seb had already checked out from redbull. and then he did well in a season he never had a shot at the title and that is the argument for him being a potential contender? why not say Stroll has won a race he is also a contender?

Good luck on Stroll. They’re never going to be allowed to can him. Seargent? Seriously? Over Tsunoda?
You asked me who I would "hoof out" ? I gave you my answer. And yes, Tsunoda had a better season than Ricciardo. Sargeant has has more than enough time.

Well I am still on ADSL as I get good service and it stays up during load shedding but I keep having ISP's call and say my ADSL service is discontinued and I need their fiber or 5G or LTE service.
I tell them all to take a hike but as I am retired and often go to places with no cell coverage and certainly no fiber access then as soon as Starlink is officially available in SA I will be joining them, and dropping Telcom, so that I can take my Internet with me when I travel.

@Anyone no one in particular:

As for the driver discussion, Eddy didn't have the new FIA License points rules to contend with, the last exempt driver was Max, so if you want new talent in F1 allow new Teams to join the grid.

Did sainz not reply to your fan mail or deny you an autograph or something?

Methinks that you're talking through your ??? For example, Bottas would have been the 2019 world champ if Hamilton was not driving in a good car, or if he had been injured for a number of races...
