F1 2024

I remember a video doing the math on the implications of the 2008 championship.

2012 would not change to Massa even if the race was removed from the "calandar" as he is calling for because there would be sporting penalties applied to the teams in order to remove the race. and Massa and Ferrari would still loose the Championship.
2021 would then go to LH for the same precedent.
and 2012 would not go to Seb but instead to Alonso for some thing in Turkey? or Socchi? I cant remember the logic.
and LH would also be awarded 2016 over Rosberg for some incident that would be deemed delibirate. was some quali incident.

it was most likely all BS. I cant see Massa winning any case like that.
and I also cant see LH opening cases based on the Precedent, nor can i see Alonso doing it.

but man can you imagine how salty people would be if LH went from a 7 time Champion to a 9 time champion all because Massa won a court case?
4D chess ;)

Ideal senario for merc would be kimi wins F2.
Williams take kimi for 2025.

I think regardless of what happens at Merc, this is likely to happen. Sargeant does not look the part unfortunately and F1 teams rarely gives rookies more than 2 years to start performing. He should be not far off from Albon by now but is still lingering at the back and if he continues to cost the team money with crashes, he will make way for Kimi 100%.

Another scenario is that Albon takes LH's Merc seat, with Mic and Kimi perhaps teaming up at Williams for 2025. I also think Sainz and Mic is the logical choice for Audi in 2026. German driver alongside a seasoned driver like Sainz.

I don't think Mic has the "it" factor his dad had, but there seems to be enough support from Toto it seems to suggest that he probably is not finished with F1 yet.

If they opted to be harsh, there were justifiable reasons to release Logan ahead of this season. I do think that they are a bit lenient with him because F1 wants a competitive American driver, especially with the owners now being American.

Merc probably want to go with someone who has already won a Championship for brand reasons and to show that they are still aiming to win. That is why I think the three main contenders are Max, Vettel and Alonso. If it was Russell going, they would probably give Albon a more serious look.

Yet he's been eclipsed in one race by what Lawson did in an Alpha Tauri, who were last before he scored the first points for them.

Or what Russell and Albon have done in a Williams, which is arguably a worse team...
I think Mic in Seargants seat would give albon a run.

and No that williams is not worse than the Hass Mic drove.

look at what De Vries did in the williams and how he then faired in the alpha Tauri.
and De Vries has how many Drivers championships under his belt in how many other places?

That team will be Audi in name, but in reality it's still just Sauber. The village bicycle of F1 that everyone left their mark on but achieved little with...

It depends, Toto I think, is looking toward the 2026 season already so perhaps investing in younger drivers now would be more wise than to just shoot from the hip with a veteran driver. But in saying that, I am 100% sure that he will jump through fire to get Max on board if the opportunity arrives.

You can't compare the different formats. Takuma Sato was very average in F1 but he would easily beat the vast majority of F1 drivers, even former Champions in Nascar. All of the guys on the grid are excellent drivers, and some adapt better to different cars and series.

Merc have plenty of money. They are in a rebuild phase but their mentality is more focused on the now rather than the future. They want to send a message that they are still aiming to challenge for the title now and not later. Russell is the guy they are building to challenge for the WDC in the future and it makes sense to bring in someone who has already done it to support him.

Yeah but by bringing in Max they might just have a 2016 on their hands again. I just can't see those two being good team mates. But a Russel and Vettel, Alonso, definitely.

I feel that if Seb comes back he will work a clause in to make sure Mic gets a drive.

that is a name that should be in talks that people are just ignoring.

I would love to see Mic come in with Seb as a Sim driver and more hands on mentor for Mic.

If Mick had any other surname than Schumacher I'm not too sure he'd be rated at all. In my opinion he just wasn't as good as his dad, he reminds me more of his more mediocre (in comparison with Micheal) uncle.

At least he isn't trying to be relevant in a world that has forgotten him a long time ago like his Uncle

I still rate Mic and he does deserve another chance.
nothing to do with his name. everything to do with his approach to learning and getting better. very similar to Pierre Gastly in how much work he puts in to get that extra tenth. pouring over data.

GAstly will never be in a car good enough to show how well he can actually perform. but both him and Ocon are already out performing the car they are in. I wish Alpine could be get their house in order and create a challanging car. but they are behind on engine, Aero and team strategy. they are going to finish in 10th below Haas and Sauber.

Yeah, he is a likable guy, I'll give him that.

Very apt description of the guy. Not sure if that was on purpose.

- My 5c
a) Max wants to beat Hamilton's record -
b) Max is there for Max. ( Remember Christian telling him to give back Position to Checa ? )
c) Merc will have to show Max that they have a competitive ( and Reliable ) car to even Tempt him to consider a move, which they can't right now.
d) I don't see a benefit for George as he will be relegated to a Perez type max-supporter position unlike now.
e) I don't think Joss has as much influence over Max anymore, as long as he is protecting & helping Max, Max will go along with it... doing something as risky as moving to a 3rd ranked constructor? - maybe not.

My current view is Mic will get the seat at Merc for 2025 if Kimi isn't rushed forward. I don't see Max leaving RB nor do I see anyone else stepping into a limited 1 year contract assuming Kimi is the future.

Ralf was not an average driver, he had about 6 wins. He may be average compared to Michael but I'd rate him as a Jenson Button level driver. Button mainly has a WDC to his name because he got very lucky in the first half of the 2009 season.

Either way, there seems to be a political battle between the Horner faction and Verstappen faction. If Horner prevails, he may leave.
The FIA and F1 have a bit of a issue with the whole RB/AT (VCA) situation regarding two teams with the same owner sharing bits and bobs. I'd guess a fantastical scenario would be a "divorce" where Horner gets kicked out of RB as a result of his antics (and RB saves face) but Hroner gets to take over AT/VCA as a consolation with new investment.

* All complete theory...
