It race week!

Also, do we know what caused the Verstappen brake fire yet?
Craig Scarborough reckons it is the valve on the break line to the right rear wheel. Each wheel's line has a valve so that each corner of the car can be "brake bled" individually.

He stated that he suspects that this valve developed a fault which did not allow the brake pressure to ease on that right rear.

The team will never release the results of their investigation. Horner will just give it the big "We found the cause and are confident that it will not happen again".

Chance of rain this coming Sunday at Suzuka. Could spice things up.

Some updates for Suzuka:

Pirelli Preview

Rain predicted for the race:
"Current forecast for the first springtime #JapaneseGP is cool and cloudy Friday/Saturday. Sunday's current forecast... Steady rain expected due to a weather front crossing. High amount of rain possible (20-40mm TBC). Situation to be monitored with the next simulation." #F1"

2025 tyre test after the race weekend:
"Pirelli will remain in Suzuka after the GP and will do two days of testing with Racing Bulls and Sauber to develop the 2025 tyres. Starting requirements unchanged compared to 2023"

more updates:

Alpine:
"Alpine will have a new front wing and a slight weight reduction as part of #JapaneseGP update. TP Bruno Famin describes them as "not major" but important for future direction. A524 also returning to its black/blue livery. #F1"

Ferrari: https://formu1a.uno/it/ferrari-a-suzuka-ce-una-piccola-novita-alla-sospensione-posteriore/

"... As in Australia there will be a minor update, this time to the rear suspension. In Japan, what will be an updated fairing of the upper triangle of the rear suspension will be previewed. A fine modification, purely for aerodynamic purposes, like the small wing profile that appeared on the SF-24 in Melbourne, which will serve to manage the flow between the inside of the wheel and the bodywork in a different way, in a very important area of these new generation single-seaters. ..."

RBR: https://formu1a.uno/it/red-bull-tenta-lallungo-grazie-ai-primi-veri-aggiornamenti/

"... Red Bull will try to get ahead of its main rival start of the world championship thanks also to a first series of innovations that Milton Keynes does not consider as 'minor'. Among those that will appear on the now classic pre-FP1 FIA sheet, there will be some important ones at the bottom , something that Ferrari will see again on the Santerno track; a macro component which on the current generation of cars produces the highest percentage of load and performance and which is therefore always subject to careful and ever-increasing revisions during the season ..."

Weather:
"RAIN WATCH : Rain expected to be heavy with 60-80mm in 24h. Strong impact during the set-up, flooding with runoff concerns in the paddock and on track likely to occur"
