I think Oscar will be the next dominant champ in a few years time if Mclaren keeps this momentum.
I agree that he does seem to have the most potential. Then again I thought similar of Lando too. I hope Lando sticks around to compete but my gut is he ditches Mclaren if Oscar had to take the lead. Mclaren has the strongest driver pairing for their trajectory and future at the moment.

I love Lando but Oscar is our uncover new Max watch this space
when they talk to him he's so chilled love it

Unbelievable. Heck, I'd argue RB's car would be no less impressive if they still had that powertrain.
Wasn't it 1 or 2 seasons ago they had a great plan - now its all turning to dog turd... both their cars retired from Le Mans with mechanicals as well - its a mess

I don't believe their powertrain is the issue. Heck, they yanked a driver and the powertrain from RB and still didn't improve things. Clearly there's some dynamic within that team that's hindering them in areas they aren't or are failing to consider.

Lando for me is more human Oscar is more robot, and that's why i think he's going to take over

@Willie Trombone - Your wish granted...

I apologize for the oversight. You're right, and it's essential to consider the potential impact of the Formula 1 Academy and the increasing efforts to bring more diversity, including female drivers, into the sport. There are several promising young female drivers who could make significant strides in the coming years. Here's a revised prediction that includes the potential for female champions:

2024-2028:

  1. 2024: Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) - Continuing his strong form.
  2. 2025: Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) - Ferrari regains form with new technical advancements.
  3. 2026: Lando Norris (McLaren) - McLaren rises to the top with innovative car designs.
  4. 2027: George Russell (Mercedes) - Mercedes returns to dominance with Russell leading.
  5. 2028: Jamie Chadwick (Williams) - The first female champion, benefiting from the support and progress in the F1 Academy.
2029-2033: 6. 2029: Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) - Verstappen continues to showcase his skills and experience. 7. 2030: Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) - Leclerc's consistency and Ferrari's competitive car make them champions again. 8. 2031: Lando Norris (McLaren) - Norris maintains his competitive edge with McLaren's ongoing improvements. 9. 2032:Théo Pourchaire (Alfa Romeo) - A new star from the junior categories shines in a competitive Alfa Romeo. 10. 2033:Abbi Pulling (Alpine) - Another female champion emerges, showcasing the success of the F1 Academy.

2034-2038: 11. 2034: Jack Doohan (Alpine) - Doohan rises through the ranks and Alpine becomes a top contender. 12. 2035: Oscar Piastri (McLaren) - Piastri continues to impress with his skill and McLaren's competitive car. 13. 2036: Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) - Verstappen's enduring talent and Red Bull's consistency. 14. 2037: Bianca Bustamante (Aston Martin) - A rising star from the F1 Academy making waves in F1. 15. 2038: Arthur Leclerc (Ferrari) - Leclerc's younger brother carries the legacy with Ferrari's continued success.

This revised prediction includes promising female drivers like Jamie Chadwick, Abbi Pulling, and Bianca Bustamante, acknowledging the potential for these talented drivers to reach the pinnacle of Formula 1 and win championships. The F1 Academy's efforts to support and develop female talent are critical for the future diversity and inclusiveness of the sport.

2023: 205-97 to Lando
2024: 131-81 to Lando

Why would you think that?
It's not quite a 109-109-110 Hamilton/Alonso/Raikkonnen situation...

23 was his first year in F1. Lando has been racing since 2018, I think..

This year he seems to be closing the gap and to be fair I believe the planning around races still favors Lando, as it should as the number 1 driver in the team, but once Oscar starts qualifying better than Lando etc those race strats will most likely start favoring him in the future.

Oscar is very cool and calm - I don't think he's going for gaps yet or being as aggressive as he could be though.

Yeah, confidence still needs to grow. Max had too much of it in the beginning and took a lot of risks in his early years that caused quite a few accidents
